  1. I wonder how the other cars behave I might try and see my mates E class and see how the gears shift through.
  2. Tried that. It does make throttle response a bit more calm but does not hold 2nd. Even when turning corners and slowing down sometimes I wish it would stay 2nd but TBH maybe I am just being overly dramatic here.
  3. Yeah its triptronic but its a "safe" version. Will downshift itself and never hold in second gear. The car performs much better when warm but does not look like we can do anything. Its Londons situation for you. I see everyone else flying over bumps but they don't give a crap (scraping front bumpers). Linas is right the sports mode doesn't exactly hold it when braking. If the majority of you have the same issue then I suppose its fine. I just wonder if other cars with autoboxes work similar (torque convertrs and dual clutch's). Even 10 mph is a bit too much for some bumps its ridiculous they really make the car jump. The UK goverment really needs to get rid of every bump and start introducing something better. I bought a MAF sensor cleaner (unrelated to this) as I just want to see if it does improve anything (even though the cars OK).
  4. Driving in London is a pain with all the bumps everywhere even on main roads. When I slow down over a bump I notice the car goes to 1st (am not stopping completely). I would like it to hold 2nd. I notice it only holds 2nd on the auto if the brake is lightly applied and speed is a little bit higher than 10. I would expect 2nd to be held while the car is still somewhat rolling as when your coming out of these bumps you are going to into 1st again and its not a smooth ride its quite annoying. The bumps in my area are not the easy type some of them really need to be slowed down for unless you don't care about the suspension or driving a much bigger car.
  5. This thread should be closed now. I have just purchased a Ferrari F40 and I don't want anything to do with anything that begins with L. Joking keep it open as your conversations seems to be all over the place, settle your disputes here. Why the hell does the Lexus go down to 1st gear when I am going over bumps slowly. I am literally just slowing to ten and wanting to roll over on 2nd car. Even in the manual mode I select two and slow down it shifts down to 1. This car ain't made for constant bumps. Any fixes?
  6. Sad. She looked like a very jolly and friendly woman. May she rest in peace.
  7. Also what is the CT's fuel like is really 50mpg all the time? Even from cold and quick local runs?
  8. Fuel tax going up as usual. No mercy and it won't come back down. When E10 comes out I bet super unleaded prices hike as well
  9. Show us pics of the LC500. Have you still got it?
  10. I see my threads bring a certain level of economic clash between members. I am going to experiment with the V Shell Power stuff on a full tank a few times. Lets hope I get 40+mpg. I was getting 42 on the first drive back from Keighley where I got the car from in Jan and that was with Shell but was not sure if it was 99 or normal. The way I see it. We are up one day and down another. We may just be in the same situation as someone who is partially filling fuel based on economic circumstance. But I am sure @Spacewagon52never meant to be disrespectful. Maybe he should clarify. Most of the time I have always just partially filled except of course a long journey. Used to do quite a lot of long journeys over the last 10 years. London to the South West, West Mids. Mazda 3 did quite well but the manual stressed me out over time. Have never really noticed condensation before.
  11. I heard its a very small amount of difference something like .75 percent difference which can be acceptable given the trip to refuel often.
  12. HI Rev. I bought the IS250 after your review on YT in Jan I was commenting and asking you questions. I found a cheap example so decided to go ahead.
  13. Probably irrelevant to Lexus but I can't find a general.
  14. Chepaest for them is £120 for 2 litres simple drain and refill.
  15. I think he was just guessing about the litres and yes I am talking about the filter sorry. But he said get original parts from them. Think I will have to phone Lexus again and see if I can speak to someone more technical because its always someone just translating what the mechanic/engineer says in these places.
  16. Another mechanic local to me told me he'll do the job for £120 labour which would be around 6 or so litres of oil. He said I would need to call up Lexus to get the original parts for the job. Fluid, pan, gasket etc.
  17. Well I rang up the mechanic for the trans oil quote and he said why do you wanna change it is there any reason. He was being very hesitant even when I said its just maintenance. He was more interested in saving my hard earned dollars.
  18. All I am saying is now that my tyres are ready and my transmission fluid is about to change I want to have racing contest from London to Inverness.
  19. Some BMW garages film their procedures being done. Should be a thing across all garages.
  20. Another guy in South London Mister Transmission charging £269 for a full flush including filter asssembley as you said but he said if theres nothing wrong you won't notice any diff. I just said its recommended. Bit pricey but I suppose if hes an expert in this area you can't say much. Lets see if Lexus are quoting for the same job. Linas. The trans servicing is not available on their website. When you phone you speak to the servicing department. I hope they are not gonna do some sort of we'll do it now that times are tough job on me. Your basically saying partial drains are useless. Most people on YT done it that way.
