  1. Have you seen it in real life, not just on pictures?

That's actually another thing! - I've seen plenty. Up here they appear to be too common (in a popular sense). So that can only affect future residual values. Are there any waiting lists for the RX-8? I've been quoted 6 months if I want a 350Z.

  2. I must be about the only person who doesn't actually like the look of the RX-8. I think it looks like a Mazda 6 on steroids.

As for that Chrysler Crossfire thingy - saw my first one the other day and in the flesh it looks even more odd at the back. Definetely a dog taking a ****. And being US, it's probably going to bounce along the freeway, sorry motorway.

  3. I've heard that the RX-8 engine cannot be started and shutdown without it reaching it's optimum running temperature - makes poping down to the shops for a loaf a bit tricky.

I've got a test drive booked for Thursday in the 350Z - I'll let you know what I think! I did sit in it on Sunday and was allowed to start her up. That engine has such a nice throaty sound.

NB: The 350Z uses the VQ35 engine, which is a Nissan engine - not Renault. Check out 350zuk.com for confirmation of this. This engine has also been used in Renaults off the wall products like the Vel Satis but is de-tuned somewhat.

I had firmly set my mind on the S2000 but after seeing a number of 350Z in Houston a couple of weeks ago - I'm now undecided. So hopefully Test Drives will help me decide.

  4. I'm currently "stuck" in Houston, but I'm far from bored mate! :winky: :whistling: (Texas Ladies!). But I know what you mean, I'm frequently in a place called Ratingen near Dusseldorf, which is the most bland place you could ever wish to be stuck!!

Anyone ever been to Ricks Cabaret in Houston? :D :whistling: :winky:

  5. Toronto for me - appears we have quite a few here who want to go over there.

Failing that, it would be the Highlands of Scotland - exactly the reason we go up to Aviemore every 4/5 weeks for a weekend away - relax by the lochs, listen to the silence, walk the mountains, ride the bikes along a traffic free path, no smog, no neds/chavs, no worrying about parking up hoping some b* hasn't hit it.

  6. Toronto - We love that place! It's probably one of only a few places in the World where I think we could live. Going again for 4 days on 3rd May!

Amsterdam - Is a cool place to go for a long weekend (and not just because of the obvious!).

The Autobahn - I could quite easily spend two weeks on the Autobahn :winky:

  7. It's not so much the hours that annoy, more the 4am wake up's to get to the airport for the 6am redeye flight! Fortunetely these days I can work from home sometimes, so working longer isn't so much of a problem - as the commute at night involves shutting the door in my home office and going downstairs to the kitchen! :)

  8. Oh dear - shame the experience of picking up a new car was ruined somewhat. Hopefully though you'll soon forget about that and enjoy it.

I know what you mean about the cruise, but then it is only a 4 cylinder so doesn't have that nice 6 cylinder feel about it. But hey, at least it goes in the snow! :D

Thanks in advance for the Nav thing. :)
