Mitch,
Forget what people say about it being a Nissan - it's this attitude that makes it appealing - let's not forget, how many times have you guys (and me, when I had my IS200) been told "ahh, it's a Toyota in a posh frock"! - means it won't become another TT (seen every 2 miles).

Doesn't time fly! Although I don't post much here these days I still read the posts every now and again. Can't believe it's 2 and a half years since I joined!
Happy birthday and a big "up" to those that take the time to make it work!

Good choice of replacement for the IS200 if I say so myself! Get yourself over to www.350zuk.com to keep you sane while you wait!! :D

I'd really love a 350Z. If Lexus made a car like that with a Lexus badge on it I'd be down the stealer with me cheque book!
I suspect we're going to end up with a RX300 SE-L though. We've looked at them before and since we purchased a Honda CR-V for my wife in March, I'm beginning to think I made a mistake. It's a lovely car - SE Exec with leather etc, but the engine just isn't that nice. It's only a four cylinder, and revs at 3750 rpm at 80mph and just sounds toooooo stressed.
We've just come back from a week in the lake district and the CRV is fantastic once you get there - just crap compared to my IS200 on the motorway. However, the IS200 just doesn't go where the CRV can when you get there!
So, I reckon, once the CRV is 3 years old (my IS will be four) we'll sell the IS and the CRV and buy and RX300 SEL for the motorway and lake district work - and then I can treat myself to a fun car.... either a 350 if I can afford the difference between 23k and the 27.5k. Otherwise, it might just be an Elise... :)
Don't let the Nissan badge put you off buying a 350Z - I'm going to put my neck on the line here and say that the build quality of the 350Z is far superior to that of my IS200 I used to have.
With regard to the CR-V, you hit the nail on the head, saying it's a 4-pot so you can't expect it to rumble along like a straight 6, but it's by far the most refined of the soft-roaders out there. It could do with a sixth gear though!

Just been playing this on my brother's PS/2 - brilliant - can't wait for the Xbox version!

Is this meet open to Non-Lexus owners? If so, I'd come along given that Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away and Drive around Loch Lomond is fantastic - see this thread over at 350zuk.com Pictures and Map

I saw this and just had to order it!

Have a good one mate! :zee:

Sorry - I've just noticed that I haven't paid! Can you advise address and I'll put cheque in the post (also, who is it to be made payable to?)
Cheers.

I'm so glad someone eventually guessed - I was starting to think you had bought one of these:
Nissan Figaro!
Nice choice of motor Zee and another one falls to Nissan - welcome to the fold! Get yourself over to 350zuk.com I'm sure you will be very welcome!

Shame you missed out on seeing inside. I'm not religious in any way, but even I was struck by it. There's probably enough gold and marble in there to solve world hunger!

its gonna be a NISSAN 350z now
Good choice sir!

OK OK - there is always the exception! :D

I saw my first ever white IS200 today in Glasgow - it looked a bit weird. Don't want to offend anyone with a white IS, but it just didn't suit it.

I read your subject wrong - I thought you said "Can we get these girls in the UK"!? Imagine my disappointment when in fact you lot were talking about car bits!
-
It's at times like this that we can all be smug! Never have I owned a car that is not Japanese - and probably never will!
-
We don't buy 6 (or 8) cylinder cars and expect to get good mileage - so why worry about a difference of a 1p between garages? Like it or not, we've got to pay the overly inflated tax!
-
The tomtom is the dogs bits as far as I am concerned - I've just bought it for my Palm T3 which I have now "permanently" mounted in my cubby (work has provided me with a new iPaq :yack: )

From 4car: "Nissan is specifically targeting it at Lexus RX300 owners: its market research found that many buyers of the 350Z coupe also had an RX300"
"it" being the Murano 4x4
Seems like an ideal two-some to me! :D

Hand's up in the air - I looked at a 318 way back in 2000. Shortlist contained the 318, IS200, and Accord Type-R. BMW salesman gave a really crap value on my then 2 year old Accord Coupe. Type-R was fast, but very hard. I was sold on the Lexus the second I started her up on the test drive! Never looked back until earlier this month when she went on to pastures new.

Hope this didn't belong to anyone in LOC, but a sad sight today on the M8 in Glasgow - a W plate IS200 Aztec fire wrecked. It looked like it was the middle car in a three car smash - although judging by the serious damage at the rear it must have had a massive kick up the back Hope they were OK.
