  1. Hi Bill, Picked it up yesterday, very pleased with it, well worth the wait!
  2. Went in and picked mine up yesterday, thats 4 months and 17 days since ordering I would say that the combination of Covid, microchip supply and Christmas period had a major effect on the delivery time I’ve heard that a jaguar F Pace ordered now won’t arrive until 2023 so I guess my wait time isn’t that bad The handover experience was great, I opted to take the service plan, TLP also in place so everything done The 2022 MY changes look great in my opinion so pleased with that, the car is great and I’ll post a first impressions summary after a week or so
  3. Update on plans, I have purchased a Nextbase 622GW two channel dash cam, I’m going to take the plunge and fit it myself. Question for those who have done it, is there anything tricky about it or is tucking the wiring away easy, also I take it the best way is to follow the headlining from front to rear? Also what fuse did you tap into?
  4. So, update on mine, ordered September, arrived Portbury on 21st December, its now in transit in Derbyshire. Dealer called to say he expected delivery soon and that it will take around five days to get it ready. I should have it between 14th and 28th January, the way the weather is I’m not really fussed as it will just get all dirty!
  5. Ive had cars with RFT’s for years and had a couple of nail related slow punctures, it could be worthwhile considering buying an aerosol gunge canister as some kind of re-assurance. Depending on what has caused the puncture its sometimes possible to get a repair done although this is not recommended if the tyre has ran seriously under inflated. Suppose the whole point is that having even a serious puncture is not technically a breakdown as it is still safe to drive at reduced speed for up to 50 miles.
  6. Thats what I like about forums such as this, a wealth of knowledge and experience available to offer advice. A simple solution and we all learn from it!!
  7. Having owned German cars for the past 10 years I have just opted for a UX F Sport, I know that the platform and running gear are essentially CHR. That is where the similarity ends and both cars look entirely different to one and other. I shortlisted Volvo XC40, VW Tiguan / TRoc, BMW X1 and Mercedes A Class GLA. The Lexus offers a great deal of tech which is simply not included in the others without pushing the price way above 40k, hybrid capability is also a factor which heavily swayed me. My current BMW X3 M Sport is a great car and offers fantastic performance and MPG but its a diesel and I want away from them. Full EV is also a step too far financially and the lack of supporting infrastructure for charging etc. Cars are commodities and like everything else we all have different ideas about what we want, this is driven by many factors and is good otherwise life would be very boring.
  8. Yeah, I noticed this when I ordered, mine is the premium spec and I wanted to keep the invoice cost <40k in order to avoid the excessively high VED banding! It’s hardly something special to have full LED lighting, you get this on some very basic marques. I suspect the Takumi version has completely different headlamp / indicator units as it also incorporates different main beam LED’s too. It’s probably more aesthetics than functionality although the LED brightness is much more easy to see and pronounced, it also uses less power which can only be good.
  9. Thanks Herbie, I have this on my shortlist and there’s an interesting fitting description from another Lexus forum which seems really informative. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ux-models-2019-present/960258-dash-cam-progress-thread-viofo-a129-duo.html
  10. Folks, it looks like my new UX will have old tech incandescent indicator lamps fitted, just wondering if any of you have changed them to LED? Some systems using CANBUS wiring need to have resistors fitted to compensate for the lower voltage. It seems a bit odd that LED’s are not fitted considering the CHR has them as standard and you would expect Lexus not to be inferior in that respect!
  11. My new UX is due to arrive next month and I’m looking to fit front and rear Dash Cams, I’m thinking of doing this myself as the dealer fitted option is looking a bit technologically inferior to whats currently available for the same price. Have any of you who have cams fitted experienced any interference associated with the radio reception or Sat Nav accuracy?
  12. Would you happen to have a Dash Cam ?, these can interfere with DAB radio, I intend fitting front and rear when I get my UX next month and hoping this is not an issue. I’m moving from BMW to Lexus and expecting service commensurate with it being a premium brand so its disappointing to hear you have unresolved issues. By the way my BMW auto beam is also a bit slow to react and I also get flashed from time to time, because of this I generally don’t use it.
  13. One thing to bear in mind is that should a significant adjustment be necessary to wheel alignment it must be evenly done on both sides or the steering wheel will not be centered. A lot of “technicians” just take the lazy option and just adjust the one side, castor and camber is really just a check that no damage has occurred as most cars do not have any way of adjusting it.
  14. I’m waiting on delivery of my first Lexus after owning many BMW’s using RFT’s, I was surprised to find out my UX will be fitted with them also. There are pros and cons for them, they are generally more expensive and noisy than standard tyres and ride is more harsh. This is offset by the fact you can drive up to 50 miles on them in the event of a puncture although this happened to me once and the driving experience when there is minimal pressure in them is not good at all., in fact it’s horrendous. I have contemplated carrying a sealant aerosol and compressor to make things a bit better for handling, some garages will also repair them if the defect is within prescribed areas but its a bit hit or miss. All in all I’m not too phased about having them but would prefer normal and a space saver tyre, although the boot is small enough already!!
  15. And just to make matters even worse my App is telling me I have two UX’s on order, one being built and the other in transportation!! Two different order numbers, the dealership is checking.
  16. Thanks for the reply Peter, I'll ask them tomorrow, my Lexus app shows I have two orders, one being shipped and the other being built. I’m being optimistic and assuming mines is the one being shipped!
  17. Hi All, I have a white 250h F Sport on order which is showing as being built and now in transportation, as far as I know these ships have multiple destinations en-route from Japan. I was wondering if any of you can recollect how long it took for your cars to arrive at Portbury? I ordered on 1st September and the original delivery estimate was mid to late December, unless the ship is powered by Rolls Royce Avon engines this is looking highly unlikely and mid to late January is more likely to be a more realistic date.
  18. Thanks for the replies everyone, I will take a look at alternatives and quotes, what I’m worried about is someone taking panels off to conceal wiring and botching it up! I had assumed that the Lexus dealership would know how best to do this assuming they do it quite regularly.
  19. Hi folks, my dealership is offering to fit front and rear dash cams for ~ 350 quid, they look good quality and i want all the wiring hidden and the power taken from a fused connection rather than the 12v aux socket (cig lighter). Have any of you had the dealership dash cams fitted or fitted them yourselves?
  20. I ordered a UX250h F Sport in white with premium pack, I have been told it will have color coordinated wheel arches. The order was placed 1st September and it was meant to arrive mid December, this has potentially slipped into early to mid January. The app is stating the car is currently being built so hopefully it may arrive in December but I would imaging that will be cutting things a bit tight. Good news is the dealership is honoring PX and pricing agreements.
  21. 94 views and no replies, guess nobody knows, it does seem odd that the CHR is all LED and the UX isn’t.
  22. Does anyone know whether the indicator lamps are getting changed to LED? It looks as though they are currently fitted with filament bulbs just now!!
