I managed to do some research regarding about the shipping information. Based on what I can find, the port of departure should be Nagoya which is near the toyota production plant. Found a website that showed the vessels that depart from Japan specifically for shipping car manufacture. There is two possible vessel that has estimated date reaching Southampton on 23rd May which is closed to my ETA from Lexus dealership. Cross finger it might be one of them on its way assuming it has departed today. I am just thinking whether Lexus is giving ETA dates based on the shipping vessels arrival dates as they need put their cars on these ships. https://carfromjapan.com/shipping-schedule

I think the tailgate locking is meant for the person to walk away and lock itself. Happy to help.

I have asked my dealer about the name of the ship that will be delivering but they have no information for this. Is there any way I can get hold of this information?

Regarding about the tailgate locking, did you try to step away from it to let it lock? It won't lock if your key is still near the tailgate. There is a video for your reference.

Thank you. There is just one step for the build. When it is finished, it will just say left the factory.

After 6 months of waiting, happy to say that my NX is build in progress stage despite the current situation. The dealer given an estimated date on 27th May. Two more month to go....

I found an unregistered NX450h+ F Sport Sonic grey with red interior and sunroof arriving this week in one of the dealership. Did enquire the about the price but still a big difference compared to my current pre order 350h F sport so will stick with it till then. Apparently the dealership is still honoring the old price total £57k. PM me if you are interested. Might be a chance to cut your waiting time.

This video taken in Barcelona with NX. Not sure if it is fitted with a black wheel arch. The official website from Lexus Spain on the NX configurator does showed it will be fitted with black arch.

My status still shows order in progress. Estimated delivery in March.

I have no doubt the Japanese will prioritize their product quality over quantity. Therefore, they have reduce 3/4 of their car production. Also Lexus has been very aggressive in advertising in the NX from TV advertisement, radio to billboard. Hope their money advertising won’t be wasted with their long delivery.

I also realised this when seeing the videos and the NX configurator on the website. Not sure why LEXUS decided not to colour the wheel arches in the UK. I have choose space grey for my NX. Hopefully it will camouflage and not too obvious with the body colour.
