I probably won't be the first or last to ask this, but would people be interested in signing a petition to ban ethanol in all UK petroleum fuel products? We're told that introducing E10/E5 ethanol into our fuel is better for the environment, but once you actually look into the production and simple logistics the entire argument gets blown out the water; not only is it less efficient meaning I'm actually getting worse economy so I'm literally burning more fuel but people like myself are forced to pay a premium for E5 fuels as they have no other option. I think this sort of thing needs nipping in the bud before the nanny state and their friends turn up bioethanol production to 11, so they can create propaganda telling us the industry is on its back legs and can then subsequently force us into an E10/15/20... nation. All things in life should be about choice, so I'm just wondering is this something we can actually get moving or will it be a bust that will sit at 10 supporters? I fear that one day we will be forced in to this without any say, which we already have done with E10. If we don' do something now we won't be able to make any changes in the future. As an owner of a classic motorcycle it scares me that there may come a day when I can't even get fuel for my motor, because some back bencher is making us all switch to a useless fuel standard to make a quick buck. I've created the petiton below if anyone is interested. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/604051/sponsors/new?token=mopvmjCmKfCd0JhiNGp6

I'd just like to say a big thank-you to all of you guys & galls, honestly I haven't been to another UK forum with people who are so genuinly nice and helpful. I hope that I can be a productive member and in the new year I hope to post my progress with my current car, which I hope to keep going till it explodes.

So I've not long ago picked up my Black IS250 (Which I think looks amazing) and wonder what do people use to keep their paint nice and clear? I've got a jet wash and used AutoGlym Polar Wash, Polar Blast & Polar Seal on my previous car, but I plan on clay baring this entire car when the weather doesn't make my hands numb. Overall the car paintwork is in great condition, but it does need some TLC in certain areas after 15 years. Also if anyone has any tips on keeping my car looking good or has any general advice with just keeping the car running good that would be greatly appreciated.

I agree although aren't most new cars pretty heavy with all their safety equipment? An old Toyota Celica with 140bhp is pretty nuts tbh, the old gen 1 Ford puma is pretty good too; you can have quite a bit of fun in them both and I wouldn't exactly say they're slow and if anything I'd say they're fast especially in the twisties. I can't just define a car as slow unless it's actually slow. I'd say the is250 has adequate power and anything more would probably be a waste considering the average driver doesn't rag their car everywhere, to be a usable product you'd want reasonable fuel economy as well too. I get the feeling that Americans just like to have a d!ck measuring contests, they do it with the whole V6 vs V8 rubbish when talking about their crappy "muscle" cars when most of them can't even use half the power. I mean the IS250 is tuned to be smooth & relaxing right? Maybe they're just used to that jerky feeling of a crappy made in american transmission. Some of the fastest bikes and cars I've ever been in/on don't feel like they're going fast when giving it the beans.

I'd rather not have a DSG tbh, too many problems with earlier models of them. I still don't get how they can call it slow though, the most annoying thing is people with the standard suspension moaning about it not being sporty; who's buying a comfy lexus to be a sports car. If I wanted something sporty I'd buy a 3series with rock hard wheeles.

Is this some kind of joke....?

I'm paying £1400 for my IS250 but I am only 22, I'm just waiting for it to go down like my motorcycle insurance did; I only pay £150 for my crotch rocket.
