  1. If your back floor carpet is soaking it's a fair bet the water is coming in from under the rear door cards, Take the door cards off the side it's wet at and check the plastic seal and make sure the door drains are clear. My father once had a car and couldn't understand why rust was half way up his door, the drains were blocked, once unblocked you should have seen the door emptying.
  2. All though the battery was completely depleted the AA man said after starting the car and running a few checks said the battery was fine and the recovery charge was charging great. I asked how it could charge when it keeps stopping, told me while the car is in ready mode and keeps starting it will take most of the boost power from the Hybrid batteries but not run them down completely, just to a safe point. I think I better take it out tomorrow for a blast to charge the Hybrid Batteries up to full again, as they were full before I left the car running for an hour and now down to 2 bars.
  3. Ok, I left the car for a fortnight with out starting and we've had a few really frosty lately days so went to it yesterday and the car wouldn't open, took the key out of the fob and opened the door, foot on the brake and nothing. Not sure if it's the original battery, but the AA is on the way, he might tell me. I could start this myself but hey why its under warranty still, but I have a question what won't help, I have noticed every time I walk past the car, the interior light comes on,(obviously the key is in my pocket) I only noticed this when walking past it in the dark, now I always carry my keys in my pocket but is this normal and is it something that can be changed. I know someone is going to come back and say leave the car keys in the house or don't walk past the car which but be difficult where it's parked and inconvenient.

  5. Daft question, but have you selected the centre vents.
  6. Thanks for that, I'll check that out.
  7. This won't suit everyone, but I struggle to hear the dink dink dink of the indicators as they are very quiet and as they don't always cancel can be a problem if your not paying attention and you can't always see them on the dash depending on where you have the wheel positioned and seat height. As I said it won't suit everyone and some complain of the beeping when reversing, but lets face it you don't reverse far. I have no trouble hearing the indicators on the wifes Yaris, I wondered if anyone had put an after market relay on and if so was it louder than the original.
  8. Unlike you I had a bit more in my budget to spend so I got a 2014 it's not leather interior which would have been nice and no reversing camera which I wanted but it has sat-nav, heated seats, reversing sensors front and rear and everything else, cost me £14k with 49,000 miles full history from a Lexus dealer with 12mths warranty, the head gasket issue as you say was mainly in America but they had mega mileages on the clock.
  9. I think it's about £3k over priced, most CT's on auto trader with that mileage are around the £6k mark, but having the Hybrid battery check is a must as they'll cost you around £3k to replace at a Lexus garage, they all come with the display and I haven't seen one that hasn't heated seats, the reversing camera would be what I would look for, don't quote me on this but I was under the impression it was the EGR what clogged up on diesels and the CT doesn't come in a Diesel.
  10. I don't know about a mirror dash cam but I would expect them all to be the same, but I did install a nextbase dash cam which is no lower than the mirror. I did not disconnect the battery, it has parking mode in the sensitivity settings being as it has built in battery what charges while driving. I just tucked the wire under the head lining and when you get to the pillar you only tuck the wire in at the very top the rest goes down the door seal to the bottom and the under the dash, I pulled the accessory fuse piggy and backed it but the fuse cover won't go back on, I didn't want a permanently live wire in case I ran the battery down.
  11. Any way thanks Derek, it took about 45 mins for the download and a 100 min to install, seems to work a treat, have to go out for a drive at night time now to see if the screen is dull enough now.
  12. Thanks for that Derek, I'll give them a whirl at that price, how long did it take you to download the file or did you have it posted.
  13. I might have found out the answer to this myself, unusual for me I had a read through the handbook and found where you can turn the display, contrast and brightness right down in the settings, have to wait till a dark night now as for the Sat-Nav it seems that it's not a Disc or SD card it's USB download, found an update in the Sat-Nav settings and it seems that Lexus have you by the short and curlies for that, it's a usb download and install what they have to do.
  14. Hi all, having owned the CT 2mths now I'm still loving it and used the Sat-Nav for the first time yesterday and it couldn't/wouldn't accept the post code, incidentally I was trying to put in PE24 4TE if anyone wants to try it, so had to revert back to my old Tom-Tom fine. Now the car Sat-Nav has never been updated since it was sold and it's 9 yrs old now, Lexus wanted £200 to update the Sat-Nav before I bought it, has anyone used ebay for an update with success. On the way home it was very late, 23:30 and my first time driving it in the dark, the car Sat-Nav could take me home ok, but in the past with Sat-Nav's when I've turned the lights on it would normally turn the brightness of the display down, wow it was like having a TV turned on in the car and very distracting illuminating the hole cabin, it was SO bright, is there anyway of turning the display down for night time driving.
  15. After hearing all the tales of woe, I don't feel badly done to now paying the £330 fully comp.
  16. I saw a firm what advertised a kit for the CT, costing £450 so I emailed them to asked what you got for that money, the reply was the adapter wire, a camera and a camera interface, I'm no video tec and asked what the interface was for, they say to link the camera to the display unit, I thought with the wiring adapter fitting behind the display, it was all I'd need and a camera of course. Looking at the wiring adapter, there is the Rcam wire in yellow and a black and red wire, live and earth, the camera has the Rcam wire in yellow and the black and red wires, I thought the display was camera ready, I'm no auto electrician, the camera you have linked is one I had looked at.
  17. I've just read in the handbook that the DRL's come on when handbrake released and driving, can anyone confirm this.
  18. The reason I ask is are these the DRL's (image edited) if so mine don't appear to work.
  19. This will sound like a daft question but has anyone got a picture of the front of the car with just the DRL's on, I'm struggling to see which is what.
  20. Hi all, I contacted Lexus at Hull about a reversing camera and they said they don't fit them, in fact they said they don't do anything like that. So I have a relation who works for Toyota and lets face it, it's a posh Toyota, only to find they have to contact Lexus to ask them about it as they don't have access to their computers, they told them from the reg number and chasis number the car didn't have a camera, wow we new that, plus they said if it's not fitted from factory it can't be done on the car display. Now the car I have has Sat-nav and in house display and on the internet it shows a CT200h having a rear camera fitted using this wiring adapter(photo included) plus a camera and it's supposed to be plug and play and powers up when reverse selected. I wondered if anyone has tackled this problem before, Lexus also said if it's not fitted it's not there so I assume they ment it's not prewired. The photo of the wiring adapter goes behind the display which you unplug the genuine and plug it into the adapter and plug that back into the display, leaving just the camera wires to connect.
  21. I not sure if this is true but I was told by one of the Lexus sales men, not being sexist I'll say sales person, that the Lexus warranty, if serviced by Lexus it gives you 1yr warranty each yr up to 10yrs or 100,000 miles which ever comes first. But he/ the person said that if the 10yr warranty say ends in April say, if you get it serviced in March making it 9yr and 11mths you would get another yr warranty because you got it serviced before the 10yr warranty ran out, anyone else heard this.
  22. Mine came with the stick on and the suction pad, but the stick on was a bugger to remove off my other car when I sold it, a new spare pad was also in the box so used that to stick it back, happy days.
  23. Accessory socket only live when ignition on, looking at the fuse box under glove box the first blue fuse is an 15amp accessory fuse so piggy backed that, the next base has a battery back up, When ignition on camera goes live and records while charging and turns off when stopped, if car is knocked camera turns and battery takes over and camera records, so never running the car battery down while ignition off. Wasn't to sure how everything came apart so took my time and took about an hour, which if you've done it before should shave that down to 30mins.
  24. The nextbase has a shock mode if activated, if car is nudged it turns on and starts recording, that way it doesn't run the battery down and as soon as car is started it records constantly.
  25. Well the Lexus was delivered yesterday, one of the first jobs to do is to fit the dash camera I have, looking at the archives it's just like fitting it to the Yaris we have, the same layout, so will use the cig lighter fuse piggy backing, still trying to get to grips with handbrake no handbrake use, park don't use park, hill assist etc, after the sales man left my head was a shed, sat down and thumbed through the the quick guide, cars been sat on the drive all day while I decide where first run will be.
