I never really took to the blackbird, my eye was on the X11, which is an undressed blackbird.

Not got any thing as posh as that what goes up in value unless you class this as a classic, I know that's a Yeti in the back ground, it was a moment of madness.LOL

Hi LenT it's not an argument, all cars need the oil changing every year regardless of mileage I have not a problem with that, and don't take any notice of the long life oil claims, I always get the oil dropped in any cars I have after a year, some times twice, I was only mentioning that covering the mileage I do it should not need a full service every two years and all my cars live under cover, as regards to the cars value, I probably paid top dollar for the Lexus I bought due to the fact it was from Lexus and comes with the 12mth warranty, but I very much doubt a Lexus dealer will have many 10yr old cars on the forecourt, they tend to trade all those on to the smaller garages.

Regardless of which service it is, if I'm only traveling 5k in those 3yrs I would expect each service to be an intermediate, as it won't need air or cabin filters, I'm told you can have the batteries tested at Toyota to keep the warranty going for a fee. I already have road side as we have two cars, it's next service is a full one, it's only covered 3k since that service and it's being serviced before delivery but I doubt if it gets the full service. So that would leave me two full services at £505 each=£1010 and an intermediate at £285 plus three MOT's £45 each=£135 and the roadside assistance =£310 so by my books that's £1740, I wouldn't buy a car if someone said it will cost you £1700 over the next 3yrs for 15ltrs of oil. Yes the Lexus in my books is a top notch car, it comes with a years warranty, it will be 10yrs old then, so the relax 10 year free warranty is at an end, so it will only be the Hybrid battery pack covered in any warranty.

I haven't picked the CT up yet but I had this email from Lexus, I’ve just quoted your service plan at - £43 a month for 3 years servicing, 3 MOT’s and 2 years roadside assistance, now being as I'm only likely to travel 5k in those 3 yrs if I'm lucky, I found it a bit steep, although they don't know how far I'm going to travel using it as a Sunday driver.LOL
  6. I'll take the tailgate trim off and have a look at some point then, when it gets delivered.
  7. I've just seen this, and the CT I'm getting does not have a reversing camera, is the wiring there and is it just a question of fitting a camera and updating software or is there a bit more to it.
  8. It was just a thought, as I said the RX would take 6CD's and I only found that out by mistake, and I always convert music files to MP3, I'll have to have a play when I get it.
  9. I haven't picked the CT up yet, it will be another week and wondered how many CD's the unit holds, when I had an RX it held 6 CD's so wondered if the CT was the same.
  10. Take a look at these on Ebay item number 225555133756, fortunately the Ct I've bought has a cat lock fitted.
  11. Well I took the test drive, faultless as expected, comes with 12mths warranty for peace of mind, but you wouldn't believe this I can't for the life of me remember the handbrake on the RX. The wife was getting into a bit of a flap about using the foot operated handbrake on a hill, told her to forget about it as the car won't roll back and think about only using it when parking and getting out.
  12. So as not to confuse, do they have hill start assist.LOL
  13. Not got it yet, was hopefully going for a proper look at it tomorrow.
  14. I'm going to sound stupid, but Lexus said put your foot on the brake to engage hand brake, moleman said there is a foot hand brake near where your left foot goes, my question is being as you all know and I don't, is it a manual ratchet on off, is it a button on the floor to operate an electric motor on each rear wheel, the wife is starting to have kittens over this, so I need a little bit more clarity, a photo would be brill but not essential.
  15. If I get over to Lexus at the weekend I can give them a proper grilling, the information I got over the use of P came from, Not a Lexus dealer by the way.
  16. I never got as far as looking down at the peddles.
  17. I was also told you only ever press the P when getting out the car, said imagine the old auto box D/N/R/P P stands for Park, not brake.
  18. Hi all, I'm a new member purchasing a CT200h but can anyone explain how the hand brake works, first garage I looked at(not a Lexus dealer) said the P under the gear selector was the electric handbrake, when I spoke to Lexus they said the handbrake comes on when you press the brake peddle, can anyone enlighten me.
  19. Hi everyone, new to the forum, I've had an RX in the past but looking at purchasing a 14plate CT with 48k on the clock with full Lexus history from a Lexus dealership, what's everyone's thought's, a good buy or not £14,000
