  1. per meter.

All our cable has more strands compared to the competitors. In essence, 8AWG is 6AWG, 4AWG is 3AWG, 0AWG is 1/0AWG. We do std. sizes and Kollosus range :)

Unlike some of the really thin stuff some people sell on ebay or around the net..

ok expect an order for some 4AWg soon then :)

    any good promotional codes ;)

Right made the first set up to try on my car, 8AWG bright red with soldered M6 ring tongue terminals rather than the crimped stuff that you can buy off eBay. Just sorting lengths out for various models now and i reckon i will be able to do bespoke colours too. Just need to design the Battery connection method now and its complete.

Will be looking into interest and to see if its worth my while to start producing them, so how much would you pay for ground leads?

  2. I dont think the fact that most drivers now use GPS devises will stand up in a court of law.

maybe but 50mph is 50mph if the satnav is accurate then i wasn't speeding i was close to the bus too about 10ft away and braking so is it possible it saw us as one vehicle?

  3. Did the rd have the markings?

If so it will be apparent by the photos (if there are any) that you weren't speeding as each mark represents 5mph,so depending on how many marks showing on the second pic from the 1st will indicate how much (if any) over the speed limit you were.

I doubt it will come to anything. :)

yep the road is marked too thats nice to know

  4. arrhh if your within 5mph of the limit their is a new system were you are asked to attend a 3hr course and you will not get the 3 points unfortunatly you will still pay the £60

If the limit was 50? and you were at 52 I thought, correct me if im wrong you were allowed 3mph over the limit?

At the minute i am absolutely fuming just been flashed by a speed camera on the A5 and i wasn't even doing over the speed limit, in fact i was following a bus !!!!!

Looked at the speedo on the flash i had 52 on the speedo and 47 on the GPS i'm assuming when i go to court if the letter comes through i can throw the GPS readings in their face and i intend to contact the bus company too as they flashed him and he wasn't speeding either. I did notice the cars following didn't get flashed though. Bloody conspiracy i tell you

Well the limit is 50 as far as i understand i tend to drive to my GPs and have gone through cameras before at the limit on the GPS and been fine. As a rule the speedo on the car reads 10% out so 55mph is actually 50mph its more a case of which is right as far as i see it the GPS is more accurate.

Will have to wait and see if a letter drops on the doormat

well as long as its on a saturday doesn't interrupt work and i can take the kids thats ok but i will still contest it

  7. why wouldnt you touch ebc, have you had a bad experience?

I have ebc all round on mine now and i think they are better than the stock ones, but i have heard its best to use the pads and discs together EBC stuff has varying amounts of kevlar in them so its more abrasive (greater co-efficeint of friction = better stopping). Time will tell though its still early days i've only just got over bedding them in this weekend just gone.

to clarify this i have ebc green stuff pads all round and ebc grooved and dimpled rotors at the front and ebc standard at the rear, so i don't have a mix and match issue

  10. Send your old ones off mate. That way you can be sure you get the correct ones.

I used Goodridge for my custom lines that I had made and found them to be an excellent service and really friendly and helpfull. I think it was Claire that I dealt with. I've got her email address if you need it?

One problem no brake lines, no brakes and i only have the one car :D and if i had wanted to walk i'd have bought a Lada

Sounds like i'll have to aquire some old ones

    Cheers

  11. A while ago i got hold of a set of supra twins to start a turbo project on the car. However if you saw the previous post on this you will see how DHL promptly dropped them and cracked quite a bit of the casting and the turbos wouldnt spin after.

At the moment i have the turbos in pieces and have sourced a repair kit, the housings and castings are at work being polished to a gleam (i'm toying with chroming too but need to look at the heat)

I've just seen a garrett T04 B compressor wheel will go in there as well although i don't have the dimensions to compare yet but i also can't find a source for a new compressor. Must admit the old impellors look ok and i may see if they will dynamically balance as yet

Anyone done their own rebuild/hybrid and any top tips

If all goes horribly wrong i will have alot of TT polished bits for sale for the Arito owners :D

Turbocharger design is a science. I recommend that the first thing to do is some calculations based on the compressow maps to evaluate the suitablility of your intentions.

Sounds interesting, good luck with it :)

the science bit is the fun part its the balancing rotating assemblies that isn't :crying: . Good point though i hadn't put any thought into rotating mass etc and rpm output.

Must admit though typically i work backwards, after it goes bang i work out why it did :hehe:

  13. I have fitted one today and the car feels smoother throughout the rev range. It was a charging stabilizer from the states. Says TRD etched in the metal and not cheaply done either but its highly dubious that it is a genuine TRD product.

    Any Pics? :D

this is an old post but.......

My ground wires have fallen appart after much abuse so i am manufacturing new ones, if all goes well and there is the interest there may be a manufacturing chain set up. I'll post pics when i am finished :)

Will be using 8AWG wire and RS Components M6 hole Ring Tongue connectors and the soldered ones too not crimped.

    Austin

  14. With reference to the collapse of the twins, aren't skyscrapers supposed to collapse in a consantina fashion to minimise surrounding damage?

look at the forces acting on the towers there would have been atleast some sideways movement and most buildings like that are brought down with carefully placed charges :shifty:

  15. Planning to purchase Toyo brand of V rated 225x55x16 tires for 1998 GS 400. Anyone have any experience with Toyo brand for performance and wear capability?

Toyo are a respected supplier of performance tyres you may have heard of Toyo Proxes which have been very popular with IS members of the club.

They seem to be reasonably priced too.

Hope they're alright as I'm just about to buy a pair of 225/35/R19 and a pair of 275/30/R19 Toyo T1-R's

have had toyo T1-R proxes on my GS for over a year now, very good tyres all round really

  16. My mates IS200 S (X - 2000) .........

The indicators dont work at all, left / right or hazard lights ?

He says it's not the fuse ............. and wondering if it's the relay ?

    Anyone ................

have a look in the fuse box there should be a relay in there just follow the map on the fuse box lid then if there is a similar one for something else swap them and give them a try

  17. BUMP

Any news on this as when my car was serviced they said brake pads will need renewing in about 5000 miles.

That was 300 miles ago, so 4700 to go :winky:

just for comparison i just changed my discs and pads all round to ebc grooved and green stuff pads you are looking at about £450 and another £50 if you want to change the anti squeal shims and sliding pins (pins are £8 each and anti squeal shim kit is £20)

  18. Well the stitching on my GS front seats is beginning to worsen.

Got a quote from a car upholsterer which was astronomical so have sourced a pair of replacement front seats in good condition but need to arrange for pick-up from seller, hence the query about the weight.

    Can anyone offer any assistance??

well i have taken mine out of the car so i would guess at about 25kgish maybe a bit more

    Thanks Austin.

Looks like I will be picking them up this Saturday on my back from dropping my lad of at Uni in Manchester.

Are they easy to get out cos the guy I am buying them from has asked me to help him work out how to remove them.

    Cheers

    Keith

very easy to get the bolts out 2 at the front under plastic covers and 2 at the back but i cannot remember for the life of me if you have to tilt the seat and take it all the way back to make it easy to get out, there is a knack

  19. Yeah.

Took it straight to them. They said they were on when it left the garage!!

I have contacted Lexus thru the main website about a week ago.

    Not heard a thing.

Very lame of the garage to turn round and say that. Its not like they just fall off! I fitted my pads myself and had no probs at all. Like saying, "Sir, you fitted my break pads last week, and they have fallen out...." Id not be happy with the garage at all!

Best of calling your local branch, think some of them are from the stone age as Ive never had an email response back from them!

anti rattle or anti squeal ? either way its virtually impossible for them to come out i have just finished changing my front discs and the caliper has to be apart for the anti rattle clips to come out and there isn't much room for the anti squeal shims to move either. I think garage man speak with forked tongue :shifty:
