  1. from the pic it looks like the kit has a rough finish!?????

if so it would look pants in the car

Sorry have to disagree strongly, you dont even notice, providing you are using the double DIN set up, I have had it in the car for 7 months now with my set up and I never even notice the different finish, people that get in the car don't notice either unless you point it out

    Si

thats what steve told me as well so seems like it will look ok when fitted

  2. If you go gold there is a group buy for the supercharger http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...ST&f=63&t=5659& for 2500+VAT from TDi www.tdi-plc.com/is200.html

Benefits of the supercharger are more power, more torque, higher top speed (if you have an automatic), lower 0 - 60. If you want to get more power later you can get new manifolds, intake, boost upgrade etc.. If you are planning on very high HP later you may be better off getting a turbo instead but other than that well worth the money.

  3. I just fitted my HKS Hiper muffler yesterday. It sounds really nice, although I thought it would be louder.

Does anyone know what the two holes in the end of the tail pipe are for?

you can put in an optional piece that reduces the noise level

  4. i have had one of these and I sold it to a member,

I found the quality good... bt yes it is a rough finish... bit if you have a nice enough head unit it should deter your eyes from it.

also.. you cannot get a head unit by being fussy... these are only available in rough finish unless you know someone who can make one.

I have a rough finish in mine and does not look too bad.

i think it will look ok although i don't understand why it doesn't come in a smooth finish - can't be that hard to make??

  5. Mini meet ahoy!!!

    Whoo Hoo!

only reservation is the Japanaese Performance Car bit - I like my standard IS, its very nice.

but its an awful long stretch to describe it as a performance car - how snobby about stuff like that do you reckon theyll be?

wouldn't expect them to be snobby at all - most jap owners seem reasonable

  6. me SUPRACHARGED-IS340, i will be bringing

    Beer

    TTE merchandise again... ;)

    soft drinks

and hopefully a white is200 powered with a supra engine and 6 speed getrag gearbox

and i'll bring the flying pigs......ok seriously anything left that you need me to bring?

    1/4 99.26mph 91.17mph

5th Run: whoops, back to poor quality

    Celica GT4 Me

    Reaction 0.803 0.944

    60ft 2.565 2.733

    330ft 6.380 6.924

    1/8 9.459 10.376

    1/4 97.43mph 80.32mph

6th Run: got my r/t sorted out finally but forgot to turn T/C off :iraqi-info-minister:

Porsche 911 (old with lots of mods) Me

    Reaction 0.852 0.585

    60ft 2.129 3.090

    330ft 5.704 7.307

    1/8 8.581 10.810

    1/8 85.38mph 72.14mph

    3/16 11.008 13.706

    1/4 13.222 16.340

    1/4 104.24mph 80.08mph

I think my 14.28 is acheivable again but must have been beginners luck first time! Got the R/T sorted after 6 runs.

Best 60ft 2.464 which is OK considering the reaction time. Top speed 91.17mph ok too.

Norris Designs EVO won the days racing, best of something like 10.8 @ 131mph

According to theory (best case http://www.musclecarclub.com/library/race/...onversion.shtml) - add 10% to HP as they suggest. Weight is approx 3200lb for car + me, from my 270 - 280hp I should be getting somewhere bteen 13.0 and 14.0. Hmm, I'm not too good at this 1/4 mile stuff! (first time of 14.28 is not bad though!). Looking forward to practice and getting in the 13's.!!
