  1. Well the builders are finished :D :D , so its tomorrow thats the big day (weather permitting). Ill take a picture before and after. I have rinsed the car, but there is still a bit of dust on it, so Im going to spend a while rinsing and washing it off before I polish it. All the scratches are gone as well, I can wait for tomorrow. Also I put another load of cream renovator on the leather , its coming up a treat now :) , and Ive taken the horrible garage sticker out of the rear window.
  2. :D will do, Ive got the camera sorted, just reading the directions. Just one thing though, when its all been buffed up and polished I refuse to have my picture taken wearing something skimpy sitting on the bonnet I just hope the builders are gone by saturday, its taken three men six days 8am to 5pm to build a small wall and lay a drive! I'll just stick to my gravel :)
  3. Thankyou for the offer Matthew :) . I've got my packing cases ready Peter ! I'm a bit cheesed off as I have been rubbing all the scratches out (I bought the buffer today) but my neighbour across the road is having blockpaving , and the builders are doing it with a disc cutter, the whole cars is covered in brick dust. So im going to rinse it all off with a hose tonight, but what a mess though. i'm going to use the buffer saturday when they have gone. If its nice Sunday i'll take a picture :)
  4. Hi :D , ive had a look at the center its great !!!, got loads of useful info, as result ive ordered a buffing machine :) . I live about five miles from Peterborough Matthew
  5. well I have nearly done it!, im working on the bonnet , the last bastion on the body work so to speak. I rubbed it down with t-cut :D and put some polish on. I still have a few small marks to rub out, but the size of that bonnet! its huge, Im only 5ft 5, I have to stretch to reach the middle My poor arm and back, I needed to lie down but kept slipping of it. Its getting looks now :D. I need some help on tarting up the alloys :) i'll use a seperate post for that
  6. Im going to get one on wednesday :D , I have to as Im terrible with keys
  7. Thanks mudzs :D , ill get one next time, its a worry just having one. might get a flat key as well, thats £7
  8. Thanks for that Peter :D , ive put it in my favourites. I know they are a bit jealous a work, because on tea break when they all went outside they must have really gone over the car, because they were so pleased they found a very small dent on the front left wing where it meets the bumper (you really do have to look hard and at a funny angle to see it) They have had great joy gloating over the scratch all week , but its gone now Best thing I ever bought, Im getting just as much fun out of them being jealous as driving it! :D
  9. Talking about keys , do I have to go to Lexus to get a spare one, as I only have one, There is a place in town that does them for £25. He said he would take a copy of my key, then order a blank one with the central locking button etc, cut it then post it to me. It would have the battery in it. Its a big place in town , not a back street place. He had loads of car manuals , and the whole place is really well kitted out. But the question is, does it have to be programmed by Lexus for me to use it ? £25 seemed a good price
  10. When I bought my bike (its gone now) in the hand book it said and I quote :D It is recommended that the rider does not wear carpets slippers whilst riding the motor cycle. I was gutted as I had just bought a pair of the nice tarten fluffy ones, so I sold the bike (well it was for other reasons really , honest :) ) You can tell I live near the fens, what does PIAA mean Managed to get rid of the bad scratch ! it looks mint :)
  11. LOL, I know what you mean , I had a 125 for a short period, but I never felt safe on it, it is always the van driver or dare I say it the 4x4 driver, they drive those things like tanks where I live. dont mention the school run :D would a GS300 suit a tasteful spoiler? I know its not a sports car , but the shape of the body at the back it looks like it would suit one :)
  12. I'll be taking some pictures next week :D i'll have my camera then. the next thing will be the headlight lids. Its just starting to spit with rain!!! Im just going to nip outside and press a button :) I bet the neighbours will be green with envy
  13. well ive put my first little mod on the car to day :D (what is it I can hear you say ?) :) . well Ive splashed out on a set of wipers that have an aerofoil on them, and very nice to I must say . Well I have to start some where :P. Ive finished of the tiny dent on the boot lid today, the paint is just ever so slightly lighter, but I'm not bothered it looks a lot better than seeing a 3/4 inch dent. All I have left to do now is to remove the scratches from the nearside doors and back wing and its all done . Ive been using black t-cut its really doing the job a treat. Im leaving the deep scratch till last. I have also tried boot polish on minor ones and it does really work. I hope it rains tomorrow so I can try out my fancy wipers :D
  14. Thanks Matthew :D. I think another reason as well is I dont want to waste my money on a car that will look a right lemon when I'm finished, so in all honesty I dont mind members views as I can learn a lot from them. But to be fair :) i wasnt sure over the bonnet badge thats why I had to ask. though the car is an older model its a cracking one , I want to add to it , but to do it tastefully. I like the headlight lids on Tonys car, so that will be my first thing to get soon be monday and off to work
  15. Hi Toni it IS brilliant on here, :) Ive only been on here a couple of weeks, and the help I got is amazing. Regarding your car and the damaged wheels if it was me I would go back and give them hell. Regardless of the car there are too many garages out there that seem to have a lack of respect. After 13 years of motoring I have found two in my area that are excellent. A few years after passing my test I changed my car to a Ford Granada (for me then it was my pride and joy. I could just about afford to buy it) anyway to cut a long story short I took it in for an MOT. The guy there was smoking , he got into my car , coughed ,and hot ash went every where. It burnt the door and the seat . But my regret is I was a timid chap that wouldnt say boo, and let it go. Ive come a long way since then , and quite willing to have a go for what ever reason . You should do the same , you have worked hard for what you have, if anyone is paid to do things with your hard earned cash then whatever it is should be treated with respect and not chucked around to the point of being damaged.
  16. :D calm down Tron, if you get this wound up over an asked question, I really worry for your health LOL. Just to point out thats why I asked , I have happily moved onto getting a set of headlight lids. But wow you should see how my big fluffy dice swing from the mirror. I found my old bonnet Merc badge and hacksawed it so it looks like an L . Can I hear the rattle of pills being taken.... But on a serious note , as daft as some questions might seem , I ask for a reason. As mentioned I have never had a decent car before and want to (over time) add to it. I have never done this before so , if making myself look stupid, I will ask, I have no problems with that at all. The thing is I see bits you can add to the car, but not sure if they will look good or not. It just that simple. You guys know whats wrong or right :) , thats good enough for me By the way how do you stitch up a fluffy leapord skin steering wheel cover?
  17. Thanks guys, I really do fancy a pair they will look good when im out :D
  18. Tony Ive just been looking at the eyelids on your headlights. can I ask where you get them from please
  19. Glad you got it sorted Tony :) and more reason for me to become a member next month. Also if I needed to get a major item for the car, but cant get to Cambridge to get it , can I have it delivered with the discount or is it over the counter only. The reason I ask is a lad in the village will look after my car and it would be nice to know I can order parts at a reduction then ask him to fit them. Or could I do it through a Toyota outlet?
  20. thanks chips :) , it is working great at the moment. :D Ive been tryng all the other gadgets out and everything is ok as well
  21. Thanks for the picture :D its helped on what to do. I wont bother with it, but it was just a thought as I wasnt sure what it would look like against black body work. So I went and bought a new set of wiper blades instead, and a small tin of cutting compund for the odd scratch :) By the way the stereo is nothing short of fantastic quality , even for 10 years , its one of the best I have ever heard
