Anyone help please. Problem happened first time just after leaving home. I retrieved the battery .fully charged it and got the car home. The car started first time next day but after only a few hundred yards the radio and electrics went berserk again. The ariel kept raising and lowering and the lights dash flicked from normal to dim and back again several times. The engine power dropped and after a while stalled .The car did not have power enough to start but did so after trying again an hour later, got home where the problem persists.I have been waiting to have an amber orange light checked out so not sure if this is indicating this problem.??

Hi all, First post here. I have a 2006 rx400h purchased with 30k miles 18 months ago. We drive the car a few times a week and regularly on weekends. The 12V SLI battery was dead 6 months ago, I figured it was 5yrs old and time for a new one, so i replaced it, this worked for 6 months. One month ago the battery was again dead. I Had the car jump started and drove it for a day, the next day it was dead again... bought a trickle charger, took battery out and charged it in our house overnight, it then worked for a day.. and then was dead again. I took the battery (6 months old) into Kwik fit, they gave a free replacement. 3 days later the new battery is dead as well, repeat cycle of jumpstart, drive, trickle charge, etc... dead each morning. Took car under AA 5-star warranty to a local garage, they looked for 4 days, alternator fine, battery fine, they cant find a problem. Have now booked to take it to a lexus for them to look (of course its dead so will need to jump it to get it there). and now its not covered under warranty. A quick search shows a history of these electronics problems with some ghost draining the battery overnight... but why all of a sudden after 5 years of no problems and a new 12V battery? I cant believe that a 'luxury' can needs to be trickle charged with a solar charger each night... never seen a range rover or an X5 with this problem any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm getting tired of spending my nights unhooking the battery to bring it in for charge, then the mornings putting it back in so my wife can take the kids to school (parked on public street). HELP!!!! Austin

I came back from a 2 week holiday - left my car in the airport carpark - came to start it and it and the battery was dead - i have had no issues with it in the past although i do think it is a small battery for the car. The airport guy jumped it and it started no problem and has been ok now after 5 days of use. Can anyone tell me what their battery meter on the instrument panel reads under normal driving... mine reads just under 12v before starting the car and just over 12v when running. I am presuming this is normal - also would anyone recomend what battery should be in this car? Thanks

Hi there, I really hope that someone here can help me or at least offer a crumb of comfort! I recently purchased a late 2007 Is220d. The fuel consumption was pretty poor, so after seeing the posts regarding the EGR valve decided to have a look. I first removed battery. The valve was blocked solid with soot which I cleaned out. I removed the valve to do this properly and used Wynns EGR3 professional to give it a good clean. The port on engine that valve sits on was also solid. I used a hoover and small scraper to remove all this and a tiny drop of the Wynns to finish. I then put it all back together and started engine. It ran for about 20 seconds - very roughly, and then stopped. I have since been unable to start it - although after about 5 attempts the battery was flat. My questions are these. 1. By removing battery, and I presume resetting engine settings - could this cause me a problem? 2. Would a relatively flat battery have caused a problem anyway.? 3. Why on earth would cleaning this valve cause such a problem? I have now taken battery out to recharge overnight and removed EGR valve to make sure that valve, pipe and port are thoroughly dry, although to be honest, I hardly used any of the Wynns on the engine part. Any advice would be very welcome please. I would also add that no alarms show up when I try to start it - it just says checks completed.
