  1. The biggest tip I can give is check your insurer has amended your car value - at this years renewal I discovered my three year old CT was still being insured for its replacement value not it's market value - getting it amended saved over £100. Maybe not every insurer fails to spiral the value down each year but mine hadn't and it was costing unnecessarily as a result
  2. Look under leading edge of front doors - often grazed over kerbs because so low - otheise normal wear and tear
  3. So the 2014 upgrade listed amongst other things a GPS clock. Now I've had the car two years I can't see what it additional does over any other car clock. You still have to programme it for the six monthly clock changes (daylight saving option) you still have to adjust it if you move from one country ( time zone) to another. I have a cheap home clock that is linked to a radio transmitter that gets daylight saving updates and checks it's self daily against a standard. I just went to France and my phone automatically updated according to my GPS location - so what Lexus, does yours do, that warrants it being a "GPS" clock. Or am I missing something?
  4. The ML in my CT 2014 premier does indeed play DVD - it will only play whilst stationary but proved useful diversion when travelling on the shuttle through the Chunnel. Just about long enough for an episode of F Towers

Really appreciate all this useful feedback from everyone. Thank you. I will have achieved nothing close to 30k when they need changing. As I originally posted The car is in for service right now at two years and has done about 17.000 miles. At least the replacement of the 16's is not as pricey as 17's

Thanks for this - is there any knowledge with continentals - Eco contact I think where I've seen comments about quiet running. I'm not price sensitive
  7. There is a diagnostics plug under the dash that takes a standard connection obd2. An adaptor plugged into it can be made to talk with an application programme (app) on a smart phone that allows you to make the modifications you wish and others without needing to go to the dealer

My 2014 Premier has just had its 2 year service at 17000 miles. Advised the fronts are down to 3.2 MM. and should be changed before next service. I run 16's for ride and now that I'm about to go off the factory brand does anyone have any suggestion of which to go for next? Should I put new on the back move the backs to front so I get rid of the factory's all round soonest? Would welcome suggestions please.
  9. Not sure as I used a pre recorded DVD
  10. I recall when I ordered my ct200 that it was a factory thing - you specified a sunroof - no spare wheel - you specified a spare wheel - no sun roof. If you wanted to order with a sun roof and after delivery you want to get the parts and fit a spare wheel no problem. I'm reckoning that the emissions thing is the point - they've got a setup that gets under a figure with one or the other not both. The issue about passenger weight is noted but the emissions test is not done in real world ways. On flat, almost empty tank, warmed up engine, probably an underweight driver, non standard tyre pressures and all the other tricks that are allegedly used but the thing they must do is have a complete car so they don't take out the seats and if it has a sunroof and a spare wheel as standard they would both have to stay present that is unless they can show they only supply as one or the other. Crazy but there it is.
  11. It's a weight issue. The extra weight of the sunroof means that it precludes having a spare wheel. In which case you'd get the same that was in the pre 2014 facelift - a can of gunk to seal a puncture and the wherewithal to reinflate the tyre to get you home. Given pretty much every car has a/c these days why would you want a sun roof?
  12. While you await try drivers.lexus.com you should find the manuals there
  13. Don't think you will be - mirrors auto fold upon remote locking. Aerial neater - and you should have a spare wheel not gunk. Should be quieter and the power take up has been made more linear - you will find a detailed list of differences on line - I've had a facelift premier since March 15 - just wish there was a usb inside the console
  14. Looks great - did you consider the rear bumper protective cill plate - with that car colour it would look v unobtrusive and protects the paint - I think ours has paid for itself
