Can Anyone Help Me Figure Out What This Knocking Noise Is?

Recommended Posts

Well, as the title suggests I've got a very random knocking noise. It's not a big thud it's like a faint rattle but not all the time. At first I thought it was my keys jingling about but I irradiated tht theory. It seems to be coming from front drivers side it slightly knocks when turning left or going on some rough b road. But like I say it's not all the time, it's irritating me more than worrying me but if something needs to be replaced would rather do it sooner than later. It's a 2003 IS300 with 100k on the clock. Don't think it is an interior panel or anything because it's almost as tight as the day it left the factory, no joke!

Any advice guys....???

if it only happens when turning left might be worn bushes or ball joints starting to play up worth having those two checked first and take things from there. mine made a sqeaky sound after i had it WIM'ed took it back and after sparying some WD-40 on the joints cured it... hope this helps

not quiet start with just having the ball joints oiled with some WD-40 and see if it clears!! changes are the garage might do it for free or maybe in the region of £25 !! best to use an independant toyota/lexus garage near you as they will know where to look/oil.
