Diagnostic Port

Hi all. I have the white round diagnostic port on my 95 LS400 and am guessing it is OBD1 and am also wondering if a round to obd2 adapter can be had anywhere?

Thanks mate. Had a look at the site. Nice find. I have an Autel diagnostic tool which does most things with an obd2 port. Am hoping it will do the Lexus even if it is only the obd stuff.

It's called TDLC1 (in engine bay) and TDLC2 terminal data link connector (round one under dash)......can't connect them to OBD2!

I think you'll find that only U.S LS400's are OBD2 compatible even though the port is fitted to European and Asian marketed cars. A hand held scanner won't work.

You are right Brian. I phoned Autel who make my diag tool. I have the MOT Pro tool which is excellent but it won't do the LS. They have a different model, the DS708 which will do it and many others of the era as well as let me do adaptions (at least on my VAG cars) and do remaps. I am toying with getting this. Not cheap however and the ongoing maintenance is pricey.
