Sc430 2001 - Coolant Hoses

Hi - I have been offered a chance to buy a SC430, 2001 and have been told that as the car has been standing for long periods for a number of time a lot of the hoses are starting to perish. The questions I have for you experts are:

1. are spare hoses easy to get?

2. where would i start looking for hoses?

3. are manuals easy to come by, and where do i start looking (cant find any yet)?

4. are there any other things/problems I should be looking for?

Any help / advice from anywhere would be great - thanks in advance.

Jeff

A Google web search shows various suppliers fo coolant hoses for the car, both UK and USA, and any Lexus dealer will be able to source them for you, at a price!

Similarly you can read on line service manuals for the car.

If the car has ben standing for some time though it's worth being wary as to other expenses. Has the car got a Lexus/other full history? Was it dry stored? Has the cambelt been changed? Engine oil state, fluids, roof seals etc. etc. Starter motor can be iffy at that age, and inlet manifold has to come off to fix - £££'s

A lovely car but if it has been ignored or abused then it could easily cost you ££££'s

Also if 2001 then its worth checking that the suspension changes/fixes have been done as the early cars did not 'suit' UK roads at all well, esp. with run flats fitted.

Good luck

Thanks for the heads up - a few more things for me tocheck - I am being offered the car for a really good price and I know the owners live abroad and only use it when they come home 2 or 3 times a year but think i need to look at service history and others. Battery was dead, but a quick jump and drive around the block and it feels ok but this might just be ok for a porject / play thing (if the price is right)

Thanks for help given.
