Gearbox Settings

:D hi, everyone,and a happy new year i,ve only just joined but i,m amazed at how much info there is on this forum.i have a 94 ls400 which i have recently bought and to say i,m pleased would be an understatement,it is simply the best car i,ve ever had and i love it.its done 165,00 and it drives like it was new,i,ve been told that the auto gearbox has a computor that checks the way you drive and alters the gear change to suit your driving style,if true then how do i get it to change to my style of driving (which probably is,nt much different to the previous owner ) i don,t know if i,m being told fairy tales or what but any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if the gearbox does adapt on that model but if it does it will continuously monitor. If you have had the car for a while I'm sure it will be fully adapted to your driving. The other way is to disconnect the Battery for a minute or two.

I think what you've heard is that the gearbox changes up later if you stomp the accelerator. It does this sensing continuously and doesn't store anything as such pertaining to your driving style.

Having checked I believe your model does store driving style.
