Hi guys, does anyone have the diagnostic equipment for the aristo and would it be the same for the gs300.

i went to the main website for OBD-II and it cost about $1000 to get the complete set. is it worth it. and what can it really do.

i saw a couple on eBay but am not sure which is the right one

If you just get a generic one it will one read and know about P0 codes and probably will also report P1 codes. Geabox, body codes etc it will not know about unless you get a Toyota add on.

Having said that P0 codes are the most useful.

Have you thought about using a laptop and some free software available from http://www.scantool.net/ and a generic cable from somewhere like http://www.skpang.co.uk/elm323.htm#elm323_kit for the cable?

For my VW I use VAG-COM and its great for resetting the check engine light and getting out all the fault codes.
