Changing Indicator Bulbs

Recommended Posts

One thing that niggles me on the IS300h is the amber indicator bulbs. I call it the "fried egg" look, an amber centre in a white background! On previous cars, I have changed these for chrome-looking ones that light up amber, and unlit, are just about invisible.

But, on reading the manual, it seems half the car has to be dismantled to change the indicator bulb, and then only if you have minute hands. Have I misread it, or is it really that difficult?

Hi Malcolm,

Open boot. Remove the two blanking plates and then undo the two bolts. The complete cluster then slides out giving easy access to the bulbs no matter what size your hands are.Takes about a minute. The bulb is a large size capless, 7504 type I think or maybe a WY21W not sure!!There must be an LED version!!
