This is common problem with the IS200 box.. especially older models.

I put it down to flywheel still rotating too fast between shifts.

when changing from 1st to 2nd leave your foot on the clutch for 1 second longer inbetween changes to let revs drop. I found this worked for me in the IS

I also had a brand new IS.. and was the same
