Do Not Sell My Personal Information Jump to content

Hi,

I have a 2009 is250 for which I upgraded the satnav system to the latest maps just over a year ago. All done officially through Lexus.

I'm actually now getting rid of the car (trading it in) and a mate has just bought a 2009 isF. His motor has the same 5th generation satnav system as mine, but using older map disks.

Question is, I'd like to give him the newer maps from my car, but can I effectively downgrade my own satnav before trading it in by simply inserting my older disks (I did keep them after the upgrade)?

Bit frightened to just try it in case I 'brick' the system.

Any advice or help?

OK, no-one seems to know, but I can answer my own question now.

Took my mates older map DVD and tried it in my motor and it works just fine. This might be of interest to anyone selling or trading in a car if you still have older satnav disks. YOu can keep the newer disk for your next car or to give or sell to someone else.
