That dreaded VSC Light

I know this topic has been discussed and discussed but as a newbie (three months in to my 2002 SC430) my particular issue does not seem to be covered? Following a slow puncture, fixed by Quick Fit

My TPMS light followed by my VSC and VSC Off light came on. Quick Fit sorted the TPS light but could not sort the VSC Light, simply saying there were not any codes on their OBD equipment.

Followed the advice given i.e. paper-clip and Battery terminal disconnect tips with no result. Took the car to an Auto-electrician and he diagnoses the main computer was faulty with a replacement price, of£000's. My nearest Lexus dealer is approx 100 miles away and being a disabled pensioner budget has to be a consideration.

Can you help! with a low-cost alternative/suggestion please

Thanks Philip

Hi Philip. So you've disconnected the Battery for a good half hour and the VSC light still on? How old is the Battery? Does it measure a minimum of 12v?

You had a tpms issue which was sorted. Was that at the rear or front? I ask because when I had new rear tyres fitted last year and git back in my car I noticed the VSC light on the dash. They sorted it by freeing up the headlight levelling gizmo which is at the rear of the car.

Very recently also the VSC came back on my car but the Battery was bad and the alternator wasn't working. New Battery and alternator later no more VSC.

Fingers crossed indeed Philip. But the underlying issue of why it comes on surely must be found. Theoretically that VSC off gizmo could be hiding a problem which could get worse and the gizmo fail because of it. Not trying to worry you but just advising.
