LS430 Long travel brake pedal

Hi have a what I regard as a serious brake issue. Do have a red triangle lit on dash and message saying brake wear. Brake pedal sometimes goes almost to floor before brakes work. No apperant loss of brake fluid or leaks. If I pump pedal pressure builds in braking system. Basic servo test suggests servo is not at fault. Press on brake pedal and turn on engine. Pedal sinks very slowly to floor. The previous owner did have some rear brake work carried out. This was by a national chain of tyre, exhausts, shocksand batteries replacement. Was thinking did they bleed brakes correctly. Got car booked in to my local garage for a brake check. Suggestions on problem and solutions gratefully received.
