is200 won't start

Hi guys.

I'm new here, created this account in desperate search of information.

My 05' is200 manual trans won't start.

Here's the whole previous things that happened :

I had the P0304 error code telling that the cyl n°4 had a misfire.

We swapped the 6 coils & the 6 spark plugs. Didn't solve the misfire issue.

So I took apart the 4th fuel injector and let the car sitting for a few days as it had to be given to a specialist to be tested and cleaned.

When I came back to the car, the 4th injector hole on the head was totally flooded in fuel, it emptied the few liters in the tank vaccuming itself out...

I vaccumed everything out there, removed the 6 spark plugs, controlled the cylinders weren't flooded, changed the oil (which was) controlled the air intake was clean and dry (it is) and finally put everything back together.

Now when I try to start the car it will crank and spark, the injectors receive the +12v on a pin (when key on ignition ON), but there's no pulse to the ground for them to work.

What could cause this issue?

If someone could help me for the troubleshooting that'd be awesome...

Best regards

Guillaume

Any new error codes? I may need to crank for a while if the fuel has drained back into to tank - not sure the fuel pump runs until the engine is cranked so it won't purge all air with just the ignition on.

I cannot remember if the immobiliser stops the ignition or injectors - have you checked the security light is going out when you put the key in the ignition?

Hi Colin

There are zero error codes that show up. I tested for the fuel to come, removing the banjo bolt on the injectors ramp, and a lot of fuel came out when I cranked the car so the pump must be fine.

We cranked enough to empty the Battery now so it has been charging all night long and today I'll see if it can start.

The security check light disappears as soon as I turn the key, means it's recognized by the car IMHO.

Do a compression test. If you're sure you have air fuel and spark the only other thing i can think of is the valves are leaking / not sealing completely with the seats.

That'd be weird as it ran before, even if it was showing some error codes once in a while

Yeah unlikely then as you would have had rough running, low power and other symptoms. I just re-read your post sounds like you've already narrowed it down to no ground pulse to the injectors? Perhaps a bad injector power relay? The other issue as someone else suggested could be the immobiliser do you have another key by chance? Worth a try. Else it could be the ECU.

The IS200 doesn't have a relay for the injectors, they get a 12v supply directly from the ignition switch, with the other side of the injector directly wired to the ECU which will ground the connection to fire the injector. OP has stated 12v is on the supply side of the injector so it is the ECU not firing the injectors that is the problem.
