Aerial installation

 Share

Recommended Posts

I’ve tried to replace the aerial - have taken apart the motor and taken out the plastic/nylon from the old aerial and replaced it with a new one (as per the 3 videos on YouTube). All seemed fine, until I turned on the stereo again and the aerial didn’t extend. Dismantled it again and found that the plastic/nylon had come away from the metal aerial. So it seems that the motor is pulling too much of the plastic and it’s breaking the aerial.

Any ideas? New motor or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Hi Steve - yes to the 1st question and yes to the 2nd question. Where would you suggest I buy the replacement aerial? Thanks!

Glyn added this excellent Technical update about replacing the aerial without removing the boot trim and motor by just using 2 buttons on the stereo:

Thanks all - that's now working. However....

I had my windscreen replaced a while ago due to a crackm and while the aerial now works, I'm not getting any FM - so assuming it's the new windscreen......
