Brake Caliper

All right guys. I no a lot have you are pretty handy on your cars and have changed/upgraded brakes etc so any advise on my problem would be much appreciated. When i took the car over to my local Asda Tuesday evening, i was driving along and you no when something doesnt feel quite right but you are not 100% sure whether your imagining it or not. i felt that the car was unusually sluggish and pulling slighty, after driving approx 1 mile smoke was visable from the front left side of the car with a nasty burning smell. I imediately pulled over and lifted the bonnet, all looked ok  . When i examined the front passenger side wheel the alloy was black with brake dust and the disk was red hot, the strange thing was that i was still able to roll the car forward and back which threw my a bit as it looked as though the passenger side brake had locked on. I took the car to my local mechanic yesterday, who is a top bloke by the way and i trust 100% with my car. He told me that when he examined the brake the near side caliper has two pistons present which he said was uncommon and that one of them had seized. He said he had stripped said piston, cleaned, lubricated and returned the car once again working perfectly. He did say however if the same thing was to happen again, which he thought very unlikely, a new caliper would be needed. Just picked my misses and kids up from the town centre and i am again unsure if the piston is sticking. Definately not as bad, if at all. It could just be i am more aware and imagining it. My question is. At last you all say, has anyone else ever experienced this, if so what was the outcome and is their anything i can do to check myself if i am now imagining it or not. Also if the problem is still present, does anyone no how much a near side caliper for an IS200 sport will set me back, maybe one of you top blokes with upgraded brakes has one lying around you wouldnt mind selling for a couple of quid.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for any help you can give.
