According to the Lexus book it says you have to be within about 2 metres of the car. I think its a bit weird as you can almost fit the key in from that distance. I usually do it from about a metre from the drivers door and it works fine as long as the little button for the remote is set to on. Have you got a spare key to try? :offtopic: Thats another strange one on this car, why would you want to turn the remote switch off?
