as far as im aware you can not get a controller due to the fact the VVT-I is mechanical wheras the v-tec is elctro-mechanical................

hower by obtaining a underdrive pully for the crank ,in effect we should be able to lower the point that the VVT-I comes into effect....................

someone make underdrive pullys for the is2 please;) like the Orthodox or HKS jobbies

The 1G engine also has electro mechanical vvt operation like the later 2JZ vvti engines.

HKS make a vvti controller which also includes a new camshaft. I have asked them about the possibility of doing a kit for the 1G engine . That will good :)

Forget about using an unorthodox or any other type of pulley that does not have a harmonic dampener - we have got a customer coming in soon to have his very expensive engine (forged everything) rebuilt, having only done about 1000 miles because the unorthodox pulley kit he fitted destroyed his brand new forged steel crankshaft. These pulley kits are of no value whatsoever apart from cosmetic.

Hope this helps

Mark :)
