Isofix Car Seats

Hi All

The time has come for me to accept that my pride and joy is to be the family transport for wife and baby.

I need to see if anyone has info on the following to help me make up my mind as to whether I should get an isofix child seat.

Has anyone used the ISOFIX fittings for securing a child seat?

Do they work well?

What brand of seats have you used?

Are the isofix fittings the same on all cars that state they are isofix?

Your help is much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Forget it!

I tried an Is200 with our Britax Isofix seat. My 18 months old daughters feet were touching the back of the seet, even with the seat forward.

Don;'t get me wrong, IsofIX seats are good, but they are heavier and bulkier than normal child seats.

There isn't that much room in the rear of the IS200 anyway. Just buy a couple of normal childs seats, one for each car. Then you don't have to worry about taking it in and out again.

If you go to somewhere like Toys R' US (Babys R us) then they will take it out to the ca r park and fit it into your car.

Try this with any seat your thinking of buying , and look on the manufactureres website for cars they support . Not all ISOFIX seats work in all cars/certified for all cars.
