Have You Ever Done Something To Your Ls...

Recommended Posts

 Yea bought a RX300SE for £35000, this year and sold it 3 months later, poor economy (20.5MPG) and wind noise from door mirrors, three panels had to be painted due to defects in the first two weeks. Got the new GS300SE last month NO probs :D :driving:

Have you ever done something to your LS that you wish you didn't?

No, but I can tell that you have. You must have choked when you picked the car up and realised they'd put the steering wheel on the wrong side  :D

:offtopic: Nice LS mate, i've got a black jade LS as well but yours is way shinier and mine has the beige leather instead.

Hi adz!! :D

Choked? Are you kidding? I was furious!! But I got used to it. Steering is no problem - but reaching the gas and brakes pedals can be quite a chore.

Craig!! :P

It's the V8 therst that puts people off, £4.00 per gallon and 20 MPG help.

I've done 10,000 miles in my LS since Jan and it's averaged about 28MPG. Admittedly I use it on long runs mostly (380 miles yesterday to work and back) but I set the cruise at 80-85 as soon as i'm on the motorway and she just purrs along.

I had a jag 3.6 straight 6 and I never got 20MPG in that thing in all the time I had it. I've seen loads of IS's on this site returning less miles to the gallon than my LS.

How about swapsies! mine's only 11 years old, just run in.

Personally I think the newest LS can look pretty slab-sided and square and the interior isn't as stylish as it used to be. I think it actually looks a bit more plasticky when I sat in the new one a couple of weeks ago. That was grey with grey seats though so that probably made it worse, and 57K for a new one! You'd lose 20 grand in the first year or two.The LS is also more expensive now than the competition it was designed against (S-class,7 series,XJ jag) You can see why they don't sell well at first glance. Lexus should sort out the price when they bring out the new LS.

:offtopic: I also sat in the new GS by the way, very nice but a bit small compared to what i'm used to.I preferred it to the old GS by a mile though.

Depreciation is not so much steep as f :tsktsk:g vertical!!. I bought a 19 month old LS 430 and it had shed 23K!! I do get about 27mpg on motorway though which was indeed about the same as I got from an IS200 auto recently.
