I no longer take my lexus to the dealership for an oil change. Does the every 5000 miles still in affect? Is it ok to only change every 5000 eventhough I'm not taking it to the Lexus dealership? or should I follow the 3000 miles rule? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

In answer to your question here in the Uk the oil change is every 10,000 miles don't know what is recommended for USA cars.

Could I suggest you join/go on the USA section of the Lexus owners Club where they may be able to answer your question better.
