My turn for a go on the soap box :

The thing that pees me off is this crap that someone gets put in prison for a sentence of say 15 years, and gets let out on 6 for good behaviour ?!?! The reason they were in there in the first place is because of bad behaviour !. It's the classic wolf in sheep's clothing situation - they'll be let out to do the same thing that got them banged up in the first place !!

If someone has been sentenced for however many years, I feel they should be in there for the entire length.

Oh well that's my two-penny worth over with :D

Would it be fair to say that in order to prevent innocents receiving the Death Penalty, a punishment of that large a scale should only be given to people in such cases where there are a whole lot of witnesses such as in this scenario?

Also my condolences to the family & friends of the WPC.

thats a very catch 22 point though. So what punishment do you give murderers?

I do believe in the death penalty and always have with DNA tests today its alot less likely to convict the wrong person, but it would have to be given out only when there was absolute proof and even then i think a stay of execution of 5 years to appeal or prove the conviction unsafe.

Personally if i was any of her relations i would want blood and if the goverment and law is not prepared to do it i would do it myself vigilantism maybe but as it says "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth"
