Hi, LOC members

I'm thinking of chaning exhausts with silencers for my old LS400 II.

In addition, a problem is emission ratio. Getting high, I guess. Even if the car passed the MOT test.

Is it okay to catalytic converters? If there is something wrong, how can I notice the problem? Is there any symptom?

Can you inform me useful information on the exhaust system, catalytic converter, and emission issues? I just found out the Cats - approx. $350 - on US website.

I don't have any idea. Please let me know... cost, garage/or exhaust specialist, and so on. I'm ready to listen up.

As above, if the exhausts and cats are'nt leaking, wait till they do!

Emission problems may be else where, plugs, leads, injectors etc. etc. ;)

HI BUDDIE WERE IN CUMBERNAULD NOT THAT FAR FROM YOU I HAVE 2 OF THESE VEHICLES VENER HAD EMISON ISSUES BUT WHAT I DID NOTICE ID THE SENSOR PLUGGED IN 2 THE EXAUST AT THE CAT ITS LIKE A 02 EMMISONS SENSOR A TENDANCY UP HERE WERE THERE IS LOADS OF SALT ON THE ROAD THE SENSOR GETS COREODED AND MAY NOT BEE WORKING IF YOU LIFT UR BONNET ON CAR U WILL C IN THE MIDDLE LITTLE 2 THE RIGHT A DIAG PORT U CAN TAKE THIS 2 ANY 1 AND HAVE IT PLUGGED IN AND CHECKED ITS NOT EXPENSIVE 2 HAVE IT CHECKED ALSO THEY CAN TELL IF ANYTHING ELSE IS WRONG

Complete replacement of your exhaust is £1,500 and it's meant to last the life of the car, as it's stainless steel!

Your oxygen sensors are likely to have gone. You need to get your diagnostics checked out. Not sure if it's something you can do yourself. Certainly with the series 1, you could try the paperclip method under the dash.
