What Could It Be?

Hi all

My IS200 has it's NCT (our version of the MOT) coming up at the end of March. It's running very well and I've only come across one potential problem. The exhaust seems to be excessivly smokey. I notice when a car is in traffic behind me on the way home each night - I can see alot of smoke in their headlights. It's not thick flumes or anything like that - it just seems smokey. Anyone any ideas what it could be and possible remedies?

It's just moisture from the petrol.

I find mine has a lot on start up but seems to die down once warmed up.

My VW LT35 van does the same.

Its only water vapour mate!!

My car does the exact same! Show me an IS that doesn't!!!

For every litre of petrol that goes into your car, a litre of water vapour is exhausted.

Ditto the others. I crapped myself when I first got my IS - there was soooo much "smoke" coming out of the exhaust I thought I'd bought a ringer.

Nothing wrong with it at all - just a vapour thang :winky:

Again, mines the same. Anybody would think there is a monster under the bonnet! I always think it look quite cool :D
