Open Doors... But There Isn't Any?

Recommended Posts

Guys...

On my instrument, the light to show that a door is open is permanently illuminated.

I checked all the door sensors and there fine (with my multimeter) checked the bonnet one, ok, and boot one, ok.

Obviously my interior light comes on which i've moved to 'off' position save me flattening my Battery.

So, i'm guessing its a fuse? Or maybe related to my alarm possibly.

Anyone had this problem?

 Sounds like a wire has earthed somewhere,

I would check every door switch in turn, it could be if you have had the alarm conected to the door switches so the one under the bonnet could be at fault. Only assuming this has you have an Altezza and you have had an alarm fitted due some of them not having one as standard.. ;)

Which way round do the door switches work e.g closed when door is closed or the other way about?

Asking because it could be a short/open circuit in the switch wiring.

With door open it makes the contact.

Yep looks like it..

Well thats what i checked out first the bonnet switch, all seems ok. When its closed or opened the 3 way LED emits the correct colour for its given position, Same with the boot latch.

I'll guess i'll check each door switch out. Been raining all day so thought i'd check if anyone else had the problem before i went hunting further :)
