Opening Up Old Wounds (insturment Cluster)

Recommended Posts

hi to you all, I am now the proud owner of my second lexus ls400 (first was a while ago)

I just wanted to thank everyone here for there time, pic's effort and patients with all newbies, this is my first post and really just saying a big well done for the forum so far

I will add that anyone considering to fix the instument cluster it is possibal (I did vary a little from all the guides as I did it at home) but my cluster is now good for another 2000 hours ! (life span of a capasitor)

I myself only have limited soldering skills and quite a large iron but managed the repair happily in under an hour, parts sourced from maplins were :-

AT98 10uF 16V

VH26 22uF 25V

VH22 10uF 50V

Parts cost under £1

clocks sprank into life after connecting the Battery, no flashing airbag light fantastic ! :D

everyone who is considering it, look long and hard at the forum (I spend 5 hours looking round before attempting it !) read everything you can find, if in doubt don't touch it !

OK I'm off now to post another topic regarding a dial ?!?!?

keep up the good work guys
