Lexus Service Or Independant?

My 2000, IS200 SE has done 35,000 miles and a full Lexus service history.

The cam belt is up for change, overdue in fact and it also needs its imtermediate service.

I was thinking of having it serivced by a good independant engineer, (IS200 owner) using Lexus parts, instead of paying several hundreds of pounds to the local dealer who has made a few errors in the past.

Thing is I will probably part exchange it at the Lexus dealer next year for a new IS250.

Will not having the full dealer history be that important bearing in mind that the car is 7 years old now?

I would appreciate your views.

For the first seven years my 99 IS200 was serviced at main Lex dealers by the previous owner. myself i have had it serviced by a trusted mechanic working from home who has never let me down and at half the price of a main dealer i guess when a car is so many years old the diffrence in value when it comes to sell will never be that great Lexus stamped or not

I'm sure the money i save having it done privetly now will eventually amount to the diffrence of the car value when it comes to resell even without the lexus stamps in the book
