2003 Navi Voice Commands

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have a clue how to make this feature work right? I hit the button, say, "go home" and the navi systems says, "AM Radio" then switches it to my last station! I say, "home" (an alternate message) and the navi says, "ski resorts" IN FLORIDA???

It only works rarely. Its primary function is to enable navi changes when driving, that cannot be done by pressing a button as the destination entry system is disabled when the vehicle is moving.

I thought there might be some voice recognition "learning", so the system would "learn" my voice based upon the acceptable commands, but my dealer said he didn't think so.

Suggestions?

I've had the same issues with my '03 LS430 voice system:

1. Who can remember all those commands?

2. Only about 50% of the time does the system understand what I'm saying.

Buttons are better, if not as fancy.

Buttons and knobs are also preferable to using the touch screen, which demands much more of the drivers attention.
