What is the stereo auxiliary like on the IS250 AWD? Can I connect an ipod to it and listen through my car stereo? If so, how do the controls work? Will I be able to control the ipod by using the actual click wheel on the ipod itself, or will I be forced to use the dashboard interface/steering wheel controls?

Any information will be helpful.

Hi there and welcome to the club. The sound via the auxilliary was very good I thought, however you will not be able to control the iPod via the normal stereo controls, you will need to use the controls on the iPod itself.

Like he said :shifty: also be aware you'll get interference if you charge from the power socket at the same time..not sure if this can be resolved with some kind of ground loop..I'm sure the electronics wizards on LOC can advise ....and make sure you remember to turn the iPod off with the clickwheel when you turn off the motor, or it'll run it's Battery down.

Is the lead for the Aux a 3.5mm to 3.5mm Stereo?

I bought one from amazon which was £0.01, £4.50 recorded delivery though lol. It is just the same as the one below

Works well with the car and the volume for the aux is stored so that when you put on the radio instead it is not too loud etc.

  • 5 months later...

Is anyone aware of a TSIB for the Aux socket? Lexus acknowledged that the original fitment generated interference whilst playing through the Aux 3.5 mm jack and charging through the Aux power socket, so issued a TSIB in August last year for dealers to change it out for a modified version with an in-line filter if and when a customer complained...presumably new models no longer have the problem.

The TSIB... no doubt the stealership will say it's only for Stateside...but I'm sending a copy to mine anyway. :whistling:
