  1. Hold down the trip ODO reset button and press the start button with foot off the clutch to bring on ignition lights. On ODO dipslay you will see a countdown start, when it gets to the end release ODO button ans switch off ignition. Start car as normal and your display should be clear, all in all takes around 10-15 seconds... Hope this helps
  2. DTUK Try DTUK, everyone on the Vauxhall forums swear by their products with some excellent results and good warranty. They don't have the Lexus listed but think the box for the Avensis 2.2D 177ps will do as it's the same engine, increase bhp to 205 and torque to 470nm.. :)
  3. Just had mine in getting the alloys changed before warranty runs out and asked them to upgrade ECU... They did this and to be honest biggest difference I noticed was I could use 6th gear from around 65mph and seemed to pick away better from lower revs, was on motorway most of road home but on the short run from motorway to home noticed that I could come off a tight roundabout in third where usually I had to drop down to second.. Hopefully this keeps up.. Once car is out of warranty will Lexus offer free flash on any future upgrades or will this be dependant on the dealer???
  4. Cailen, I got quoted the same from Edinburgh, Glasgow were around £315 and independent using genuine parts was £200. That was for 20k service and warranty still intact.
  5. Just back from the dealer as car is out of warranty in August and they agreed to fit 3rd set of alloys to car no problem, in fairness to them the nearside front was really bad. There was flaking on one of the spokes so was prepared to fight it out with them but no hassle at all..
  6. Could be that the engine works best above 2000rpm as at that speed the turbo is fully spinning and gets that extra oomph.. Raised the issue of same engine and fuel consumption as I was given an Avensis as a courtesy car be dealer, comments were different drive train and heavier car equates to poorer consumption...
  7. Had the same concerns but everything is flush and all in line..
  8. 20,000 Mile service for diesel Lexus Edinburgh £440 Lexus Glasgow £320 Independent garage using genuine Lexus parts to keep warranty intact £188 10,000 mile service was quoted £170 but got it free as a gesture of goodwill due to all the warranty issues I had.
  9. Odd one out here, I have it on the passenger side, you really only notice it on sunny days.. which are few and far between..
  10. Just thought I would share the good news... Looks like Lexus have found a fix for the Boot Lid/Bumper issue... Car was in for another respray of boot/bumper beginning of Sept, a few days after it came back out I got a call from the dealer to say they had a solution.. The four rubber stops on the boot lid were replaced with slightly longer ones. I have been running the car since then and have paid special attention to the danger area, so far so good, no recurrence of the problem.. So if anyone has any concerns pop down to your dealer and ask for the new rubber stops, easy fix just pull out the old stop and push in the new one.. Happy days :)
  11. Seen a few GTR's around my way, but not any IS-F's, don't think they exist in Scotland... If Humberside Police are taking them does this mean there is less available stock allocated to joe public???
  12. For the smelly air-con try switching it on then turn the temp up full and run for at least 15 mins with engine at normal running temp... I had a similar problem with my MG ZS and it was cured by doing that, seemingly the heat kills off the bacteria that creates the smell..
  13. We went to Mothercare who look up a chart and will only provide a car seat suitable for your car (got both the lexus & astra car seats from them). The seat we have in the astra will fit in the Lex but is not recomended as it can move. As for the issue pointed out earlier regarding car seats messing up the leather we got a protector that ties into the headrest and then goes over the seat had no problems whatsoever a year down the line.. Would recommend Mothercare as they let you try before you buy at the store..
  14. Yes it does, you could take the risk and not tell then although if you did have a serious accident you would have to remove before an assessor got anywhere near your car... Most premiums with these add an additional £50 or so to yearly premium... Although if tried to palm it off as a fuel saving device they might not charge If anything it will improve the emissions as the fuel burns more efficiently as it is injected at a higher pressure.. I know a few guys have them on their Astra's and have toyed with idea, thinking about getting a BMW and was looking at getting it chipped and came across this site Chip Site Big claims for £50 less, also they confirm what I was told by another company that the Lexus was hard to Chip due to the ECU set up but looks like some clever folk have worked it out :)
  15. I will second that have had one for 3 years. Had a similar issue with relfective windscreen, got round it by using their magnetic windscreen mount which is a suction cup similar to Sat Nav holder that picks up the signal no problem, Costs an additional £14.99. Never had any problem with mine, saved me on a couple of occasions, you can be driving along having idle chit chat with a passenger and forget about a speed camera that has been around for years and this wee thing bursts into life :)
  16. I was in similar situation, we had a son so had to lose the TT and went for 220D. Nice big comfy car with lots of toys and better looking than BMW or Audis.. But as for space in the rear it's not great... If I was in your shoes and through experience would avoid the Lexus, although to be fair to Lexus you are looking at a car which is targeted against the 3 series and A4, for comparable space you need to look at the GS but guess its diesel your after. Will through a spanner in the works and say go for the A6 2.7 or 3.0 TDi, had one for a week when the TT was off the road, well impressed, personally don't like the inside of the 5 series.. See it's all about individual preferences as mentioned above :)
  17. Sound similar to my old TT when the parcel shelf was rattling only solution was to use masking tape where it sloted in, worked a treat..
  18. Sure I read somewhere it was to do with stopping some of the vibration coming through form the diesel engine.. it dissipates via the windscreen.. not sure if it's true or not. Anyway as mentioned previously take it back to the dealer there is a mod available under warranty, Edinburgh did mine no probs and I know that Glasgow have done others. So you should get sorted Once sorted no issues even with stereo up full... :)
  19. Don't know where you are in Scotland but I have had a full set replaced by Lexus Glasgow and now need the rear ones replaced due to bubbling... 18month old car just turned 14,000 miles today.. Lexus are well aware of the issue and change them over no problem..
  20. Sound like the dealer wants to fit the ipod integration kit, this allows you to control your ipod using the stereo controls, charges it up whilst driving and is placed in the glovebox.... You need a 3.5mm stereo lead, one end plugs into aux point in armrest other end plug into headphone socket and away you go... Got mine from Maplin (think it was around £3.50) or you could try ebay or any audio electrical place.... Works a treat for me although on a long journey your ipod may need charged up, only downside is that you switch off the car and forget to turn off your ipod and come back to a lifeless Ipod..
  21. Had all four replaced last year and now both rears have gone again... Best way to describe them is small blisters on the spokes, car 18 months old and only done 13,000 miles... If I can get a decent photo will put it on although the blisters are small.. When I questioned the service manager he mentioned soemthing about the type of salt we use in the UK, was speaking to a guy from dumfries & galloway council about their gritting operations on the M74 and he said it was nonsense.
  22. Boot was fixed and problem back again also noticed a return of the pitted alloy syndrome.. Hopefully will get the back end resprayed again... and at the same time can supply some new alloys, 6 Alloys in 18 months shame they don't change the tyres to go with them.. :duh:
  23. Fuel prices have been increasing for the last 3 weeks or so. Locally unleaded was around 82.9/ltr but is now at least 88.9/ltr. representing around 7.5% increase whilst crude oil prices are relatively stable. Not heard any outcry about it though! Extract from weekly email received from the FTA (Freight Transport Association) can assume that if bulk price of diesel is falling so is Petrol, although the petrol companies state that it takes up to 4 weeks for these prices to filter through to the pumps. Diesel prices: further falls UK contract bulk diesel prices fell last week. As at Friday 27 January, the price stood at 77.73 pence per litre (ppl), compared to 79.83ppl the week before. The gas oil price also weakened to 34.14ppl, compared to 36.39ppl the previous week. And before anyone points out they did get the month wrong should have read February...
  24. Got a text from Lexus Edinburgh last week offering me a brand new High Spec RX350 for £23,995 quote" Saving over 10K only 4 left" Things getting desperate by the sounds of things...
  25. I had similar problem and I know of one other person on here who has had same issue. Symptoms were no matter what speed the fan was running at no air would come out of vents or windscreen this lasted all day Sunday and Monday 2 weeks ago (thank god for the heated seats), phoned dealer on the Monday morning who told me to bring the car in, 2 miles from dealer guess what? the air started coming out. Dealer still took the car in and removed the glove box and passenger air bag to access heater motor, found all connections in place and could trace no fault. There has been re-occurence as yet.. No doubt Lexus will deny there is a problem...
