Hi not sure where to post this (sorry if it is in the wrong place)

I have not been on the forum for a while due to ill health

Anyway I am just after a bit of advice and any help.

I purchased my Lexus new July 07 for cash. Not long after

I went into hospital for an operation. And now for the foreseeable future

I will not be driving. Before I ring the dealer to ask if he is interested

in buying it(knowing my luck he will not) anyhow let's say he is not interested

apart from my local paper. Do you lads and lasses know of anywhere

else I could try I suppose not many people at this time of the year

Have 25,000 plus to spend.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated :winky:

Firstly sorry to hear about your personal situation WRT your health, and wish you the best.

I'm sure the dealer will give you a price, but it will be trade price. You'll probably not get back the VAT element, and then you'll have to knock off at least £350-500 per month of ownership - so that'll be another £2-3000 off!!

Yikes....

That's my guestimation.

Go to your dealer first with low expectations...remember, the economy/country could be on the verge of the largest "slump" in 20 years and no dealer will want to take on another car if they are not likely to shift it quickly.

Some dealers may take the car in, treat it as though it's theirs (i.e. make sure there's no finance on it etc), sell it for you and then agree what they give you depending on the deal they get. Not many garages do this, but speak to the Business Manager at your local shop where you bought it from. You never know...

Lexus dealers do pride themselves on great Customer Focus, and they'll probably want you business again in the future.

The only other place I can think of is Autotrader, but be prepared to haggle...
