Can Mp3 Folders On A Dual Layer Dvd By Read By The Mm

Recommended Posts

While I await delivery of my IS220d se-l mm I was wondering if the MM system was able to read a Dual layer DVD with MP3 audio on it. A single layer disc is 4.7gb and that I know can be read. So if I can write 8.5gb to a dual layer disc then happy days. Has anybody done this??

The MM system will not read MP3's of any DVD - Single or Dual Layer. It will only read MP3's of CD.

I thought the same when I got mine, and was disappointed when it wouldn't.

Mine is an original 05 model, so maybe they have updated the software on latest versions, so let us know when you get the car if single layer DVD works for MP3

I know this topic has been covered before, so a search through the forums may give you more than i can.

It is possible to do but with its own pitfalls

You can create a DVD using Audio DVD Creator a piece of software that records

MP3 albums onto DVD as video type files in chapters. you can get alot of data

onto the disk but it all disapears off the screen once you drive away. If your driving and

want to change albums you need a good memory.

Easier Option

Buy an MP3 player and plug it into the aux port in the armrest.

or

Lexus now do an ipod intergration kit which i think is around £250 fitted

this gives some control and visibility of tracks on the screen
