Disable The Reverse Beep?

Because you've got a visual indicator on your dash (it's even covered in this very thread, in post #9 http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=50224entry539972)

if one stays in reverse for a duration of half a mile to a mile then yes it might help if the beep gets disabled but the question is how long does one stay in reverse or reverse a car round a block anyway for this to be a problem??

dont forget the manual IS200's were sold in other continents who are more used to driving 'autos' than 'manual' boxes so lexus thought it will make sense to add a beep when reverse is selected just to make the driver aware and keep them safe. its a 6 speed box so they had no choice than to postion it near 1st gear.
