Replacing Rear Innner Wishbone Bushes, Problems , Help?

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately my beautifull 1995 LS400 Mk III failed it's MOT with excessive play in inner rear bushes on the rear wishbones, both sides.

The tester showed me, yes you can feel play in the wheel and see the wishbone mounting moving when the wheel is wiggled.

Has any one replaced these bushes, I am using some ADUS 578 bushes (or bushings as they are reffered to in the USA) purchased from LDP Autoparts on eBay.com as reccomded by some US owners.

The problem seems to be that the top hats are too big and the wishbone unit is now too long to fit back into the subframe mountings.

A picture will follow tomorrow, so you can see my dylema.

I've had a similar problem and I'm not certain the bushing that I have are right and I'd have to cut out the others to be sure and them where would I be. The tutorials show every other part and the names for the legs are different in lexus catalogue to those named elsewhere. Its a head ache.

Good News :) I have manged to get the new bushes in and re assembled the wishbone.

Last night I did the other side of the car. It took less than half the time so far and I have taken a load of pics.

Pictorial Tutorial to follow shortly and the parts are the right sizes.

It would be fantastic if you could give the part no's as well and where you got them as well as prices as this is my next job to do. i have got the trailing arm bushes on order from the states but the upper control arms/wish bones are not listed.

the more info you can provide will be of help to a lot of owners out here in interwebby land.
