Faulty Alarm On Gs300 Series 1

Hi Guys,

After a lot of trouble I hope I have found the final solution for all owners with this problem.

My alarm was going off for no reason and NOT flashing it's lights whilst doing so. There was speculation that this happens only when you use the valet key for extended periods. This is not the case. The problem seems linked to a corroded siren. Just booked my car in with Lexus and they say they will simply remove the siren and charge £49.50+VAT, that's 30 mins labour. This seems to be the best option as alarm dealers are unsure about touching a Lexus as they are known to be difficult.

The immobiliser is unaffected by this operation as it is linked only via the key, so theft is unlikely, and besides, the thief would have to fill it with petrol! Not a cheap experience.

Please spread this info about in your own posts as there are lots of members scratching their heads over this problem.

Here's hoping for a quiet life..............
