Is200 Lsd Oil

Hello,

I'm at 60,000 mile time & I'm servicing the car myself, already done most of it myself now, just left with changing the LSD oil - I couldn't find any topics specifying a brand of oil so here I am asking you guys!

The owners manual specify's:

Hypoid gear oil for limited - slip differential API GL-5.

Above -18c: SAE 90.

Below -18c: SAE 80W or SAE80W-90.

I saw some in a local autoshop, it was Comma LS80W-90 Gear oil limited slip (GL5) Mineral based. Link below - would it suffice or is there a better alternative?

That oil sounds fine mate, brand doesn't matter as long as the spec is right.

I done mine a few months ago, have you done the gearbox oil yet, as I think this needs to be SAE80W-90 (semi-synthetic)? This is harder to refill as the fill up hole is pretty tight to the floor. I made up a 90 degree bend out of some old rubber hose to make it easier.

Hey, thanks for the reply, no I havent done the gearbox oil as the owners manual says that should be done at 40,000 mile intervals :)

Since yours is supercharged it's probably better to do the various servicing abit more often the what the manual states ;)
