Mk Iv Remote Unlocking Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi folks

It seems one of my best mates was so impressed with my new ls400 that he went out and bought one at the weekend.

he has a problem with the remote system,

It locks on the remote both stages but wont unlock same for the boot. if we lock it to the second stage 5 flashes of the lights, unlock it with the key, the alarm goes off. both remotes do the same ( new batterys fitted)

Any Ideas

thanks Mark

I don't know what you mean by the second stage of locking or unlocking, and I might be stating the obvious here, but to unlock the boot on my 2000 LS I have to hold the button on the remote down for about five seconds.

I hope this helps.

Redsteve.

Hello redsteve

thanks i know about the few seconds to unlock the boot,

the second stage is, once you have locked the car if you press the locking button again, the indicators flash 5 times, I belive the car is deadlocked and the internal sensors are switched off for the alarm, (I asume so you can lock the car and leave a dog inside),

It will not unlock on the key button at all

thanks Mark
