Sealant For Weatherstrip

Recommended Posts

I have a rear lip installed that attaches to the bumper and it requires a rubber weatherstrip i think to cover the gap and make a water tight seal aswell as blending in the lip to the bumper. I do not have the weatherstrip and was thinking of using household UniBond exterior purpose sealant.

I have the correct colour unibond sealant i need, but i am just wondering if it would be ok for this purpose. I know that using silicone sealant is quite messy but i think i should be ok applying it. just want to know if it would work on the plastic lip and bumper

if you are using silicone sealant make sure that it is neutral cure and not the acetoxy type.
