What about trying the place like DTD but you agree a maximum price and the dealers bid lower, I think that's how it works. A small fee is involved but in the current climate I would think you will have them fighting over it.

I don't want to pay DtD price on a spanking new Aygo only for a spanking new model to be released in a few weeks time. So we'll wait and see what happens then. Who knows, maybe 'that Salesman' may have been made redundant by that time ;)
