Installing Second Amp

Recommended Posts

Hey folks!!!

I'm just about to add a second amp to run the 6x9's on the parcel shelf and believe I need a distribution block to help split the wires to each amp. My question is how many will I need, and how are all the wires split between the 2 amps? Also, what kind of distribution block will I need with regards to inputs and outputs?

Thanks in advance :)

2 wires will be split, the main power lead and the remote live.

I'd suggest the earths go to two different points.

Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Goldplated-Power-Dis...%3A1|240%3A1318

For the main Battery terminal,

and for the remote, that can just go into one amp then link across to the other.

Yeah thats all i'd do, shouldnt be a problem with it.

Cheers Stav, much appreciated. There goes my weekend lol

out of interest are you keeping the stock head unit...?

Oh no no no. Got rid of that a long time ago lol. Got a Kenwood fold out screen DVD player. Already got an amp and subs in the boot, but want to amp the aftermarket 6x9's too
